I'll Drive Some Day

Driving is a scary, interesting art form that I am a little sad to admit that I've never gotten into. It's one of those things in life. I don't think I would have a problem doing it, but there is just something in my way. Maybe I'm just resisting myself for some reason. Or maybe it's a part of God's plan, and it just isn't the right time for me to do this. I had this funny thought that my daughter and I might take Driver's Ed classes together, and maybe pass at the same time. I couldn't really critique her very much, if I was just a novice myself.

Every so often I'll be online, doing something fun when I come across one of those car insurance ads that pop up everywhere. I don't mind ads at all; they are how people and businesses make money online, and all that. But it reminds me of this skill that so many people take for granted, that I do not yet have. I do get a little bit embarrassed by this, as the Philippines has become such a luxurious bed of opportunities to earn plenty of money for nice things like cars. It almost seems like to not have one, let alone to not be able to drive it, means that I am not living up to my potential.

Of course, I also have the big goal of learning more languages. I'm not sure which languages, of course, but there are plenty of great ones to choose from. Maybe I could learn French, and say sweet romantic things to my hubby. I wonder if he would give me flowers more often if I were sweeter to him first. I don't know, but it's worth a try. A girl can only go so long without feeling like she might be doing something wrong, you know? Hope not.

Cautious.

I received a SMS last month telling me that I was one of the lucky few who won insurance from a certain insurance company in Makati. I just need to reply to their message if I’m interested to claim the said price. I’m a person who’s very cautious when it comes to messages like this. I’ve heard so many stories about scammers thru text messages so I just ignored the message. After a week, they send me again yet another message, and called me twice to inform me that it’s the final notice. Well, I don’t care for free life insurance quotes. It’s better to be safe than sorry. I still didn’t go.

Shall we get one?

I received a call from hubby’s friend. She’s the one who’s offering us insurance. She has already given us several life insurance quotes but until now, we didn’t get one yet. I’m a bit reticent toward her since she’s been asking us to get at least a plan since last year. Now she’s offering us a one time payment plan. I need to tell hubby about this first. Our plan of getting insurance was set aside since he asked me to get a house first so I don’t think we can afford a plan not until April next year. Haaaay….priorities…..priorities….

On insurance

I have very few knowledge about insurance. I don’t even know about a mortgage life insurance. Last year, we were trying to acquire some insurance for us but then when we studied it further we found out that getting pension plan seems much better a life insurance and educational plan. But early this year when we decided to get first our own house, our plans for getting insurance was set aside. But I promised my self that when we finished paying for our home’s equity will pursue getting pension plans. My husband and I believe it’s a good investment as well for the future of our daughter.

Insurance again

Two Saturdays ago, I met hubby’s friend who is an insurance agent. As you all know we are currently on search for family insurance plans and educational plan for our daughter. She gave me her computed insurance quote and listened as she explained the details. The plan she gave was good but the premiums are way too high. She gave me the application forms which I have to fill up at home. I told her that I’ll just ask question if ever there are things I don’t understand. Honestly, I’m quite hesitant since I want a cheaper insurance rate.

I told hubby about this and he said that he’ll asked his friend to gave us another quotation. I also emailed his friend but she hasn’t responded yet. Well I just hope she’ll give us a better quote next time.

Health Care

I was talking to my friend the other night and found out that her son was hospitalized last Saturday. Her son stayed in the hospital only for 24 hours but she said that she paid a huge amount of money since she wasn’t able to apply it to Philhealth. She didn't have the chance to get a form from their office cause it’s a weekend. She was really regretting the fact that they didn’t have any healthcare insurance. I told her that she can really save money on healthcare insurance so it’s good for her to start looking for insurance companies that offers these kind of services.

Our family’s health should be on top of our priorities. For me it’s one of the most important things in life. So it’s essential that we’re protected with
healthcare coverage. I am thankful that one of the benefits our company provides their employees is our medical and health insurance. It’s such a relief when you do not worry about hospitalization fees...it’s a great help.

Insurance

I've got a text message from my husband the other day. It was his reply when I told him about the life insurance quote I received from an insurance agent a few days ago. Actually he's interested to get one but he also wants to get an educational plan for our daughter. So, he asked me to look for an educational plan which also has this benefit. He referred me to his friend who also works in an insurance company and we'll see what we'll get.
