Triple Celebration

After giving birth, my sister will be returning to her home and she is planning to hold her house warming same day as her son’s birthday and also welcoming the new addition to the family, her second son. It’s going to be a triple celebration. She’s asking me to help her plan since she isn’t fully recovered yet. But aside from helping her plan the event, I’m also thinking of what to give as housewarming gift for her and for the kids. I guess, I have to visit suki market at Dapitan to find a good gift.

Johan Turned 1

My little boy celebrated his first birthday last Saturday. As expected, he received a number of gifts. There are also some gifts for baby girl and I thought the sender was mistaken, but I was surprised when I read the gifts tags that they are for the little princess, my daughter. How generous of them to give gifts to my little girl as well. Anyway, the preparation I did was tiring but I’m glad that the celebration was fun and the guests had a great time. I will just post my suppliers ratings once I'm done.

Anevay's Birthday

Last July 24, we attended Anevay's 4th birthday (Blogger friend Milet's daughter). My daughter loves attending birthday parties so she's so excited. And of course she's a big fan of Jollibee so upon knowing that the party will at Jollibee, that made her even more excited. After we had our lunch we went to SM Marikina to buy a gift for the celebrant and she personally picked the gift. She even said that Anevay will surely liked it, lol!

I told my helper to come with us so that Johan will be able to attend to. It's my son's first time to attend a birthday party so I'm not surprised to see his reactions when we entered the place. He seems to be excited upon seeing a lot of kids and colorful balloons. He likes to touch the balloon that his sister was holding and his eyes are following it everywhere it goes, see the pic? LOL!

She didn't want to join the games so she just watched the kids as they play.

But of course, my daughter's party experience won't be complete if she won't be able to have a picture with the big orange bug! When Jollibee entered the room, her eyes twinkled. She's kept on asking me that she want's a picture with Jollibee.

My daughter really had fun. Jollibee made her day. Thanks Mommy Milet for inviting us :)

Today...is my Birthday!

I am another year older, wiser, and more grateful. Thank you for a wonderful birthday!

Allow me to make a humble “thank you” note
For all the people who remembered me and wrote.
For those who left messages everywhere and bothered
And those wonderful friends who chatted and lingered.
You who took time out from your otherwise busy day
You who stopped awhile, left me a message and did say,
My dear friend, Mhay I wish you a very “Happy Birthday”!

You who would have otherwise said,
“Nah, I don’t need to write it, such a greeting is overrated.
After all, a birthday to one is but a usual day to some.
And look at her, she’s probably having enough fun!”

You, who would have otherwise decided that it’s better not to greet
Than be branded either “eagerly excited” or “terribly late”,
You who would have logged in and out without a trouble or a care.
Still, you did what you did, left a greeting, au contraire.

It’s friends like you who make birthdays happier
People like you who make parties thrown here and there,
Look no more fabulous and appear none the grander.

It is you who makes me pause in this hurried, confounded world
To appreciate life, count my blessings and remember what I’ve always been told –
That friends come and go, in myriad colors, shapes and sizes.
They add meaning to your existence, oh the pleasure of one who socializes!

They may promise to stay forever, swear on their lives and say: “Leave you? Oh never!”
The next day they’d be packing like crazy, running after lost dreams, gripping a dagger!
But the footprint they leave on that old hostile path you once traversed together
Stay with you long after the journey’s over, most times enduring even the harshest of weather.

These friends I speak of may be actual or virtual. They maybe new or old.
I might not see them now in the flesh, never did so, and probably never would.
But the thought of their very existence is enough to put a smile in a face like mine,
That though most times appear smug and happy, let it not beguile
That I’m not without my own challenges or share of this world’s troubles, every once in a while.

Thank you for your greetings, dear friends who I value greatly.
Be it known to you — now and for all eternity –
That every message you send me, moving swiftly and securely,

Aided by the wonders of technology, from 3.5G mobile to Web 2.0 that’s ever so lively,
From the farthest continents, across the seas of whatever country or territory –
Is treasured, never forgotten, forever appreciated and cherished as priceless
By someone whose natal day has been made special by your warmest greetings and wonderful wishes!

Lifted here though tweaked a bit...

Revelation Day and a Wish Granted!

We had our yearly kris-kringle (Monito-Monita) revelation day in the office this afternoon. We had so much fun! We had sumptuous lunch complete with the best seller conti's Mango Bravo cake (wasn't able to take a pic since it's gone in just a few seconds, lol!) . We enjoyed lots of food!

The most exciting part is of course, the revelation part where we revealed the faces behind the code names. It's usually the fun part of the day. And indeed we had fun. All wishes were granted as well. And was the part I really loved. I got what I wished for and here it is....

.....yes! it's a Baby Couture diaper bag...!! I really love my mommy! (she's the one who chose the color and style) She was not able to give me all the items for the something-something but she gave me what I really wanted. I'm soooo happy.

Thanksgiving

Today, some parts of the world are celebrating Thanksgiving day…so to all of you who are celebrating this day, Happy Thanksgiving Day! Enjoy all the pumpkin dishes and of course the turkey. But above all, please don’t forget the main reason of the celebration. Thank God for His goodness, faithfulness and loving kindness. We have to acknowledge God as the main reason why we are still here, enjoying life and all that He has blessed us to have.

Have a wonderful celebration!

Happy 4th.

...But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" (Josh. 24:2, 15)

This verse has been our verse since our marriage. Last July 23, we celebrated our 4th year wedding anniversary. By faith and by the Lord's guidance, we made it this far. We've lived separately for two years because of his work. There are people who won't believe that in spite of the distance we will remain faithful and loyal. But we've proven them wrong. I know we still have a long way to go...but with God as the third strand and as the center of our marriage I know we can withstand everything.

Today...

I woke up early....

Cooked some food that I have to bring...

Had a hard time getting a cab to the office....

Didn't feel well due to nausea but still entertained my "guests" ...

Went home early to at least enjoy the day...

But instead...

Got soaked in the rain...

Witnessed an almost accident along the road...

Went home and cooked some more food...

Tired...

And now writing my thoughts. :)

But I'm happy.

I'm a year older..

A year wiser...

Didn't received any expensive gifts...

But grateful for all the people around me...

Who love and care for me ...

Grateful for God.

Thankful for this day.

I'm 31....and happy!

Funny Father's Day

How did you spend Father's Day? As for us, we just ate out. Lunch out actually. We had lunch after our church service.

We had a funny pre-celebration the day before (Saturday). Here's what happened:

After spending some time at the prayer mountain in Antipolo, I went straight to the mall to buy hubby a gift. I bought a nice customized shirt which I kept hidden until dinner time and two cards (one will be from me and one from the little lady). I was hoping that daddy will go out for an errand so we can work on the cards. And an opportune time came. He need to buy a paper bag for his gift to a pastor. So when he left, I immediately took out the card that will be coming from the little lady. I helped here wrote some mesage and her name. Then sealed it with her kiss (mark), which the little lady enjoyed doing. She was practising what to say to her dad while I returned the gift bag back to where I hid it. I didn't know that the little lady saw what I did.

When daddy returned, I was busy working on my pc. The little lady greeted her dad, "happy father's day!" which surprised hubby. And then without my knowledge, she went inside the room, get the gift bag and gave itto her had...she's realy an spoiler! lol! Daddy was left laughing on us. And teasing that we are not a good team and that I cannot keep any secret from her. lol!

This was one unforgettable Father's Day celebration for us!

The Happy Last Weekend of May

We are now entering the last month of the second quarter of the year. It’s June already and here in the Philippines, it’s the first day of classes. How soon time flies. Summer is finally over. But we’re happy that at least before summer finally ended, we were able to had our family outing. The month of May ended quite well and exciting for me.

Here’s a recap of our weekend in bullet points:

  • Last Saturday was the little lady’s 3rd birthday.
  • I had experienced some problems before and during the day of the event but thank God, everything went well.
  • A week before I already set my mind that we’re going to have a swimming party but only for the whole family.
  • I had last minute preparation as to what food to prepare.
  • I ordered her cake just two days before her birthday.
  • Then, I found out that the resort that I’m eying for the party was reserved for an exclusive use only last Friday so we have to find an alternative. Good thing we found one that is also close to our home.
  • And the worse, it was raining hard the day before so I really prayed hard for a good weather.
  • And we did had a good weather during the day but it rained in the afternoon.
  • But amidst all this, I’m very thankful that the little lady had a wonderful party. And for us, that’s the most important. She enjoyed swimming under the rain. :)
  • And she enjoyed it even more because she had her dad this time.
  • That was the little lady's first birthday party with her dad.
  • Then, yesterday, after our church service, we went to the mall to buy groceries.
  • Then we had our dinner at Max’s Restaurant.
  • We were able to go home by quarter to nine.
  • It took as long to get a cab because of the heavy rain and the long line of people also waiting for a ride home.
  • Went home tired but happy.

On the 30th...

Another birthday is coming up. The little lady will be turning three on the 30th and to tell you the truth, I haven't had any definite plan yet. The husband wants an out of town vacation. I also want that but we don't know yet where to go. Hopefully, we'll be able to finalize it this week. Aside from the trip, I'm thinking of cooking some food for the kids, buy balloons and of course a cake for the little lady. She wants to blow birthday candles now so I know we need to buy her one. Haayy... she's really growing fast and getting smarter everyday.

(She was holding a cake given by our office to all mommy-employees. She loves cakes so when she saw this she was the first one to have a bite.)

The Best Gift I Received On Mother's Day.

Yesterday, the whole world celebrated mother’s day. Our day! So what did you do? Did you celebrate it also? As for me, we didn’t have the time to celebrate it like I wanted. We just went to church in the morning, then attended a thanksgiving celebration in the afternoon. We didn’t have time to have special dinner. I didn’t receive any bouquet from hubby but I received a wonderful gift. No, not one of those diamond rings on my wish list or any material gifts you can imagine. What I received is more than that….

After six long years, the once broken bridge between my family and our former church was restored. Why we left is a long story. But I’m glad that God really made the way for reconciliation to happen. And we’re happy, hubby and me…that finally, this burden that we carry in our hearts for so many years was taken away and now we have peace.

What happened? We received an invitation from our former pastor coursed through one of our friends to attend the said event. And that's where we spent the whole afternoon yesterday. And I don't regret attending at all. What God did was more than I expected. God really make all things possible and His timing is really perfect!

Company Christmas Party 2008

Sharing some pics during our company Christmas Party last Thursday...

The hosts of the night

Dancing the 70s hits

Receiving our cash gift - We were 2nd Place

The Benpres Group

The Christmas Party Committee

Out theme was Disco. We covered the dance moves and hits from 70s up to the year 2000. We were assigned to dance the hits of 70's. So, a month before the event, our group had several practices. Buti na lang cooperative naman and members ng aming group. Those whomI thought won't dance was able to pull it off last Thursday. :D It was a close competition between us and Toni's group, hehehe. They won the 1st prize, we were 2nd. Okay naman din. We enjoyed it.

Honestly, this was the most tiring party since I've been part of the committee for four years now, to the point na nagkasakit ako the day after. Na over fatigue yata ako... But I'll say that this is also the most fun and enjoyable Christmas party I've ever had. But I promise my self, ayoko na maging part ng committee next year. For a change I want to just sit down and wait and see what the committee will prepare for the company next year :D (sana lang pwede).

Celebrating 37 Years of Wedding Bliss

I'm proud to say that my parents has been married for 37 years now. And we, their children, are so thankful that they are still together and had never given up with each other...committed to their promises and still enjoying each other.

How I wish my husband and I will also be able to reach this stage and even more :)

We celebrated my parent's wedding anniversary at Gerry's Grill Marquinton last Saturday night. We had a wonderful dinner. Actually I initiated the celebration since my sisters seem to have no plans for it since they are also short with cash (malapit na sweldo kaya poor na daw sila, hehe). I was thinking to give them money so they can go out na lang or perhaps watch a movie pero mas type daw nila dinner with the whole family so I informed the whole family :D. I also created this digiscrap pic which we gave to them. It has written messages from their lovely daughters and son. at the back They were so surprised and happy.

I shouldered the expenses but it's okay as long as I know that I was able to make my parents happy. And my whole family happy.
