Waiting

I have a friend who have been have been waiting for so long now to have their first child. They have been married for over 6 years already but until now they are still waiting. Some of our friends who have the same problem have been recently given the gift after their long wait but this friend remains hoping. It was indeed a close fight for the crown. Although a lot of us are not satisfied with the result, let's be content and be proud. Shamcey did her best and she showed a true picture of a Filipina--beauty, brains, and a strong personal conviction. But what I like most about her is that she was firm with her faith. She showed that she is indeed a true believer of Christ. :) As what Venus Raj said, everything happens with a purpose. Even Shamcey is contented with what was given to her so let us all be proud for her, for being the 3rd runner up at the recently concluded Miss Universe pageant.

A Grabby Addiction

People with gambling addiction and do nothing about their situation will never be successful and will just go deeper until they're drowned. I have witnessed a lot first hand and the way I see it, gambling is a greedy addiction so you must not get into it. Because when you’re into it, it will be hard to get out. It will get you until you have nothing left. That’s why I don’t understand why people, who already know that they are addicted, and with nothing left anymore, still don’t want to stop. Or maybe they are not stopping until they get those that they lost, but truth is you cannot get even, you cannot win. So if you're in this situation, let go and find someone or an institution to help you get out.

It Started With A Bang!

This week started not so good for me mainly because of the accident my brother in law caused. My BIL borrowed my car so he can practice driving. He's a new driver and I really don't trust him that much that he can handle the car very well but because his somehow a relative and I am concern about him (about the job that's being offered to him), and I really wanted to help so I gave in. But as expected, it did not ended good to me, my car and my neighborhood.

Why? Because he accidentally bumped into the subdivision's water pipelines and broke three home water system and meters. And of course it caused great damaged to my car. Upon seeing the car's state I get really mad. I was angry and I cried over the car. I didn't even want to talk to him. I know it's an accident and I shouldn't be so mad at him because I'm also at fault allowing him to drive in the first place. But of course, getting mad would be everyone's reaction during that time. But after a while, after understanding the incident, i was able to compose my self, and forgive him. After all, he took the responsibility and needed action to fix the damages he caused.

Still, I'm thankful because first, it was not so serious, and seconds, it was being resolved. The incident taught me a lot of lessons.

One of the wishes of every mom to be is that her child is healthy and will come out normal, complete and without defects. In ancient time, a child born with defects is a not a good sign. People believed that either the child or the parents have been cursed. I have even read somewhere that if the child was born with defect he will be immediately be put to death, a really very sad story. Expecting!

Oh, no no no...Not me! It's my friend. I saw her baby shower photos which was held last Sunday. She looks so happy and pretty despite her big tummy. I’m so happy for her. They have been wed for I think more than 3 years already and at first she was so worried they won’t have a baby. They almost consulted an infertility doctor in their eagerness to have a baby. I told my friend that babies are gifts from God and they just have to wait for it to come. And true enough, after almost four years of waiting, here they are a picture of a happy and expecting parent to be. Photos of their baby shower shows how happy and excited they are, just like when we are first expecting. I can feel how excited they are. Babies really bring joy and that’s what it brought my friend and her husband. I wish her a normal and safe delivery.

I Don't Get Pimples

I see myself blessed to have skin that is not prone to pimples. I often get compliments and that flatters me a lot. Some people would even ask me how I get rid of pimples because I rarely have one. Well, as I’ve said I’m not prone to this skin problem. But to those who ask, I only advise them to eat healthy food, avoid being an all-nighter and avoid using skin products that doesn’t compliment your skin. These are just simple ways to avoid having those zits. Remember that taking care of your skin is as important as your diet and fitness.

Twitter is field with tweets about the tsunami in Japan. I feel for those who are hit by the devastating tsunami. Many had been caught unguarded and I know that a lot are in grief right now. I had goose bumps when I saw the waves over the net yesterday. People in Japan might be on the funeral planning stage now. Let us help pray for them to recover. In times like we can only rely and trust in God, the maker of this world, who is all-knowing and in control of everything. And in times like this that we realized that we are only living guests of this world.

Silver Lining

The sun was up again today. Thank God typhoon Basyang didn’t do major damages, except of course to those who were severely affected. We experienced a full day without electricity though, but all in all, casualties are lesser compare to last year’s typhoon. The husband learned about this and he was also praying for our safety. But since we are situated in a much more elevated place I didn’t worry so much. We were also able to get cheap insurance for the car so I feel more secured now. Well, I just pray that no more super typhoons that will come until the year ends.
