From Grand to Simple Plans

Two years ago I was dreaming of a big birthday party for my little girl. A grand celebration complete with a band of musician. I went even over my dream and ask a friend who operates a sound system rental business that I will rent out his units. Just a month ago he told me that he has the new blackheart amp that he’s going to use for his events. But now that budget is getting tighter, the grand celebration has taken a back seat and so we’re now planning for a small art and chocolate fountain party which I hope I will be able to pull off in two weeks time.

My Custom Printing Business

When I decided to quit my job and stop working, I also have one thing in mind that I want to do. I want to put up my own business and I was thinking of putting up a shop that specializes on Custom Printing. I have been fond of designing invitations, and other personalize stuffs as gifts and souvenirs that's why I thought it will be a good start up business for me since I know I can handle it well. I love making stuff like Flyer Printing and Gift Card Printing and stuffs like that and since I believe that one will be successful if one will pursue what he is passionate about, I thought it as the perfect business. But as time passed, my dream business center is still in my dreams. Financial issue is what restricting me for that dream business to be realized. It's hard when you do not have yet the funds to support your passion, he he. So for the mean time, while we are still waiting for the funds to come, I am already preparing myself for that business. I am consulting a friend for a good marketing plan. I am also trying to get as much information as I can get to learn everything about custom printing. And I am thankful that my husband is supporting me on this. Though we are still on the stage of praying and planning, we are full of hopes that this printing shop will open soon.

Family Travel Soon

When Cebu Pacific held a contest last month for a free airfare ticket to Hong Kong, I almost joined. Questions are easy and since my internet is quite fast, I was sure my answer could reach them first. But then I realized, the ticket was good for one person only so I still need to get three tickets for my two kids and their nanny if ever I win one. And I also realized, I don’t want to travel without my husband....Sad. So I just watched as contestants raced to win. At the end of the contest, I honestly had regrets that I didn’t get any free tickets...sigh.

Anyway, I still have this dream that someday my family can travel leisurely either around the country or abroad. We haven’t gotten any chance of getting into private tours let alone the chance to travel as far as Cebu or Davao City together, what a pity.. . haha! When my husband was returning home last 2009 one of our plan is that he will stop at Hong Kong and we will just meet him there so we can have a family reunion. I was about to book us tickets when my husband suddenly changed the plan. It was really frustrating but I saw the reason why.

So until this day, my dream to have an out of the country vacation remains in my dream. But I believe that dreams do come true. I firmly believe that we can have that long awaited family travel soon.

We're Moving.

We’ve finally decided to let go of the house we planned to buy from HDMF and decided to just rent for a while until we’re able to save enough to buy a property not under HDMF. So last week, we’ve decided to scout a house somewhere in Marikina that was not affected by the flood. Luckily we found one in Marikina Heights. We’ve already visited the place and talked to the owner and finally closed the deal. We’ll be moving next month. Hubby also decided not to sell the car anymore since the house that we got has a garage where it can be parked. I’m thankful for that. That car has a sentimental value to us so I am really having second thought when he told me he wants to sell it. Now, we’ll just improve that car with necessary car accessories. This will be one of the things on our list to start our 2010 plan.

I'm excited for the new house. This week, we'll be starting to buy boxes to pack our things. It will be a new start that I hope, a really good start for us...

Why Gold?

Do you know of someone whose business is buying and selling gold? My parents has a friend who’s investing in gold and is now a successful businessman. I don’t know so much about this business and why investors buy gold then sell them after, but I think this is one of the best business to pursue and invest on. But first time gold buyers should be equipped with all the necessary information before venturing in this business, let alone buying their first gold bullion.

Why do they invest on gold? Well, first and foremost, gold is the most popular precious stone for an investment. It can be sold as gold bars or as precious jewelries when melted. Gold bullion have been used even by first Filipinos during the barter times in exchange for products from other countries like China.

Even before the existence of american eagle gold coins, gold has been used worldwide as money. And like money, all commodities were priced in relation to the relative & similar quantity of gold per region during the pre war period. Now, more and more investors believe that the value of gold will not go down but will continue to rise up instead. Thus, having gold for an investment makes it a safe haven for them against any economic, political, social or currency-based crises. When you have gold in your safe, you will definitely feel secure even if the economic condition is down. But like investing in stock markets, it’s also very risky to venture in this type of business.

As for me, I would really love to learn more about this business. Who knows, once I mastered everything about investing in gold, I could succeed and eventually helped out in our finances? At times like this we must be more pro active when it comes to looking for additional income for the family, right? That’s why I always search the net for some opportunity that will really help us. But since I know, we’re not yet capable of venturing into this business, financially speaking, I’ll just equipped myself with lots of info about investing in gold and maybe someday, I’ll be able to call myself a gold investor.

Movie Marathon

I’ve recently acquired divx movies from my friend. So I’ll be having a movie marathon this week-end (I hope!) or next week since I'll be staying home most the time during the Holy Week. These are movies that I really, really loved to watch but never had the chance to because I was...mmm..busy, I guess, haha! Anyway,I’m so thankful for my friend’s generosity. My sister wants me to give her copies. As much as I want to, her won’t be able to save them. We have to get a new memory first before she can watch these films. Do you happen to know where we can get a cheap computer memory? My sister is scrimping and won’t shed huge amount for it.
