Foams?

I love watching “Rated K”, a late Sunday afternoon program on ABS-CBN Channel 2, hosted by Korina Sanchez. Her segments and topics often get my interest. Yesterday, she featured a foam mattress manufacturing company here in the Philippines. It caught my attention as she featured how foams were made. The program showed the various processes the raw materials of foam go through until it became the comfortable, mattresses we sleep or sit on in our homes. It’s quite amazing. The segment was followed by the commercial of the company. Life isn’t really comfortable without foams :D

Grand vacation!

Our president went to China the week before lent. Next week he will be traveling again so I’m going to have another long-happy-week without a boss around. I love times like this because I can concentrate more on my To-Do list. But first, I need to talk to my colleague who’s also arranging his flight details. I hope she already got him good hotel deals.

In "Other" Words: Don't asked, just TRUST

We are enrolled in this school we call LIFE. And since it’s a school, it’s coupled with various kinds of tests. But it seems that it’s quite hard for people to accept this fact sometimes. When faced with tests, we get nuts!

Trusting God is not always easy...often times we do things our own way. It's easier for us to manage our lives and not have FAITH. People tend to go on with their everyday lives carrying along their own plans and when things go wrong and gets out of hand that's when they beg for God's help…and when help seem to come not as instant as we want it to be, we tend to choose to walk away from God.

I admire the faith of Abraham. He went through the most difficult test of his life, but instead of questioning God or get mad, he chose to believe the promise of God and he trusted completely. He believed that God will fulfill it although he asked him to sacrifice Isaac. He did not walk away. He just trusted and obeyed.

People in the bible are ordinary people, like us. But God gave them to us as our examples. They went through test before, and we will also face different kinds of tests now. What’s important is how we respond to these tests…What’s our attitude in the midst of trials and difficulties? Are we responding like what the people in the bible did? We should. The ultimate response it to TRUST God. Because His word says it all:

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything..” James 1:2-4

When we are tested, we are broken. But isn’t it much better to be broken knowing that our lives are held and being crafted by the Potter? We are like jars of clay that the potter molds. When a pot accidentally fell and broke, the potter pick up the broken pieces, molds it back into it's old form but even much better than before. The potter won’t stop molding us until we are perfect. It’s amazing how He can turn our broken pieces into a wonderful work of art! That is IF we’ll let God pick our broken pieces together and allow Him to put them back again.

Let us not be scared in facing trials. Let’s TRUST our God because he is our maker and He knows what’s best for us.

Nina is hosting this week's "In 'Other' Words" at her site, Mama's Little Treasures . She has chosen a quote from "What I Learned from God While Quilting" by Ruth McHaney Danner & Cristine Bolley.

The Letter "I"

Heidi tag me with this..thanks sis!

  • I AM… a happy mom.
  • I WANT… to be a SAHM and be with my daughter 24/7 but I can't.
  • I HAVE…to prepare for my song leading schedule next month.
  • I WISH… I can be with my hubby but I don't want to leave the country and work abroad
  • I HATE… cockroaches.
  • I FEAR… of losing a loved one specially if they haven't been saved yet.
  • I SEARCH… the internet for things I am not familiar with or anything I want to know.
  • I WONDER… if hubby will give me my wish (a DSLR) as birthday present this year :D
  • I REGRET… the things I say sometimes that hurts people.
  • I LOVE… my family so much.
  • I ALWAYS… see to it that I read my bible everyday
  • I AM NOT… a good dancer but I am not a bad singer either :)
  • I DANCE... when the situation calls for it :)
  • I SING… almost every Sunday at church. Singing is my passion.
  • I CRY… when I get hurt (physically or emotionally)
  • I WRITE… my thoughts and experiences. Aside from this blog I have a notebook where I scribble my thoughts or just a day's experience with my daughter.
  • I WON… precious friends either online and in cyberspace.
  • I AM CONFUSED… at some things.
  • I NEED… a new computer, a new hair cut and a dress for my sister's wedding on Saturday.
  • I SHOULD… eat more to gain more weight.

THE LAST THOUGHT I GO TO SLEEP WITH IS… "Thank you Lord for your guidance through out the day. If there's anything which caused me to grieved you, please forgive me and help me to be better. Guide and bless my family. And help us to live for you and be your living witnesses for your greater glory."

A day with her

I was with Jaden for 5 longs days and I enjoyed it. Our family used to go out for a splash every good Friday but this year, since my sister’s wedding is coming near, we just stayed home and enjoyed the long vacation. After the wedding, that’s when we’ll have our family outing :D.

As I was saying, I really enjoyed the vacation. I got the time to know what the nanny and Jaden is doing everyday. I’m glad to know more about my daughter’s daily activities and her development. There’s a time that they just play her floor puzzle and coloring books. I was writing down some notes and she saw me with a pen...she loves pens. She quickly took the pen from me and asked me for a piece of paper. She ran away and sat on the floor and I observed her as she writes and doodles. Afterwards, she got up and ran quickly to me and excitedly show her piece of what seems to be an artwork for her... It was just some
elliptical lines and strokes that goes anywhere but she was really happy.

Times like this are really priceless. Thank God for the long vacation.

Hmmm...

What about skate shoes?...I think, not. She isn’t ready for that yet. I remember when I was younger and skate shoes are everywhere…almost every child wanted to have one! But not us. Our parents didn’t buy one for any of us. First because it’s pricey, second because it’s not practical, and third, because we don’t know how to skate :D. Knowing our frailty, our parents didn’t bother.

Terrible Two?

Jaden is entering the stage which they call the “Terrible Twos”. She is becoming more and more active, playful, inquisitive and observant. She loves bicycles…which reminds me to buy her own as she is borrowing her cousin’s..and she also loves swings! Unfortunately I cannot buy her swing sets since there’s no place to set them up. So I’ll buy a bike instead.

Speaking of…her birthday is coming near..I’m thinking of either prepare a birthday party or just invite her cousins for a summer splash in a private resort…Hmmm. Need to finalized this matter asap.

Mineral Make-Up

My sister had her trial make up last month. Her make up artist was great. He does make-up to some Filipino celebrities already but he charges fair to ordinary clients, like us. I don’t know if he’s using mineral makeup but some of the brand he uses includes mac, sishiedo, max factor and the like. I love how he transformed my child-looking sister into a blooming bride-to-be. I’m excited for her wedding this Saturday.

Samu't sari for the LONG WEEK END

We went to Jaden's pedia this morning. I was so disturbed of her coughing during the night. Last week she was put on medication but the cough did not subside. The pedia said, it could be primary complex. She injected PPD test on her this morning and we'll know the result on Monday. Her x-ray looks bad as well. I can't think of any reason why she'll get PC. As far as I know, we don't have any relative who has this kind of illness nor anyone from our neighborhood. *Sigh*...I hope it's not PC but if it is, I pray that she'll respond to medication. It will be a 6 months medication...sigh...sigh.

Anyways, since the office do not have any bosses today, I decided to bring her to my office after her check up. The officemates love her :) and she's enjoying it here. Now she's sleeping while I'm writing this. Wasn't able to check in here or do bloghopping earlier eh...ang likot-likot kasi niya :). She fell asleep while watching Barney. Nakakatuwa coz I thought she was still watching, bigla na lang sumubsob sa table. Tulog na pala ;D.

Speaking of the office, it seems that we will have such a gloomy atmosphere in here next week...three colleagues resigned. Sunod-sunod...Isn't it just days ago when I write here about our office being renovated and getting a new look because of additional cubicles? *sigh* There are more cubicles now but lesser employees naman. Why oh why? :(

This will be my last day of work this week...(I'm not resigning! Hehehe!!) The office declared halfday tomorrow but I decided to take a leave. It will be so much fun bonding with my little lady for 5 long days...Long Week end here in the Philippines!! :) Isn't it just GREAT, GREAT, GREAT?!?

I know I still have some tags to answer....I don't think I can blog for the next 5 days but I'll try answering those tags...Promise!! There are no opps for me this week either...:( So while I'll be "hybernating" for a while, please do come and visit here pa rin ha.....I'll appreciate it so much..and oh, before I forgot, I'm leaving you with this:

Remember that God gave His son for us, He's ultimate sacrifice is giving His life for us. We can only repay Him by giving our lives back to Him, accepting Him as our personal Lord and Savior and living our lives for Him...

Have a meaningful Holy Week everyone!

Ten Things You Want To Say To People

This was a tag from Lilet. I'm thinking if I'll do this but I guess they won't be able to read these words after all so go...

Rules:

- List ten things you want to say to people but know you never will. (Note: this might be something you’d say to one person, but you mean it to someone else)

- Don’t say who they are. (They don’t have to be anyone who would read this.)

  1. Years have past yet your bitterness is still there. Learn to forgive and forget and ask God to heal you.
  2. What you know is just half of the story. You need to be openminded and learn to stop making biases.
  3. Blood is thicker than water...but realize that you need to make your own stand and stand for what is right and acceptable to God. Not because they are your children you'll go to their sides even if they're wrong.
  4. You have hurt me so much but I forgive you.
  5. You brought pain in my life but I'm happy now that you have learned to let go and move on.
  6. Stop ruining lives of young people.
  7. Be a doer of the word not just a hearer. Do what you preach!
  8. Are you really what you say you are? I can't seem to see it. Prove it.
  9. Learn to stand and live on your own. You've been married for 4 years yet you're still cleaving with your parents. Do not depend on them. Not until you realized the biblical truths of marriage will you be able to really experience God's promises to married couples. And learn to accept your wrongs. Genuinely FORGET. Totally FORGET.
  10. I want you to know that we've already forgotten the past and forgiven you. I pray that someday, in God's time. Our wounds will be healed. So that when we will have the chance again to meet, and bump at each other, we'll be able to greet or hug each other. We don't have to tackle the issues our families have. I'm still praying and hoping for that day to come.

Now, go grab this tag if you want to :)

Shall we get one?

I received a call from hubby’s friend. She’s the one who’s offering us insurance. She has already given us several life insurance quotes but until now, we didn’t get one yet. I’m a bit reticent toward her since she’s been asking us to get at least a plan since last year. Now she’s offering us a one time payment plan. I need to tell hubby about this first. Our plan of getting insurance was set aside since he asked me to get a house first so I don’t think we can afford a plan not until April next year. Haaaay….priorities…..priorities….

In "Other" Words: I am LIMITED

"We leave something incomplete everyday, whether it's an area of housework, school, work, friendship, ministry ~because we are finite"

~from The Hidden Art of Homemaking by Edith Schaeffer~

Let’s all admit…no matter how hard we try to do everything, we CAN’T. Our strength is INADEQUATE. Our capabilities, RESTRICTED. Our all is NOT ENOUGH to do everything in a day. We all have our daily unfinished businesses--because we are LIMITED.

Engulfed by my daily activities, I sometimes wish I’m a superhero who can do several things in just a blink of an eye. But I can’t, because I’m only human...and I.AM.LIMITED.

I play multiple roles and wear multiple hats each day. I believe we all do. We have our own LONG list of things to-do everyday that demands our time and if we'll only focus on this list, we might caught ourselves staring on it blankly; overwhelmed, feel stressed out, weary, exhausted, and regret that there’s so much to do yet so little time. But when we acknowledge that we are limited, God is there to remind us that my He is UNLIMITED. He is the ONLY infinite being--the ONE who has infinite wisdom, infinite strength, infinite ALL.

I am relieved knowing that I can trust an infinite God to help me. It’s the fact that brings JOY in doing my every task. Putting him on top of my list gets me more accomplished every day.

We will always have “incomplete” tasks. It’s all right because we are limited. But we can look at this as something to be thankful for. Why? Because it means we will have something to look forward to…another day to live and fulfill our duties…Another day to acknowledge God’s presence in our lives. What’s important is that we live each day with God. Putting Him first in our lives. That no matter what happens…we are self-assured that our days are worth spent. That when that time comes when we have to leave this world, we can face God and say that we have lived our lives well. We have spent worthy and pleasing lives on earth.

But for the meantime, as we play our multiple roles, let us accept the fact that we are FINITE. God knows are limitations and weaknesses but He promised us that we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. (Philippians 4:13)

8 Weird facts about me

Thanks Milet for this tag :)

In the 8 facts about yourself, you share 8 things that your readers don’t know about you. Then at the end you tag at least 8 other bloggers to keep the fun going.

Here are the rules:

* Each blogger must post these rules first.
* Each blogger starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
* Bloggers that are tagged need to write on their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
* At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
* Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

Here it goes:
1. I don't eat squash. I think I've said it before why...:D
2. There are times when I don't drink water in a day.
3. I always wear my hair long or at least below shoulder length. I have a rounded face that's why.
4. I don't use ketchup for my fries. I like it plain with salt or sometimes dipped on vanilla sundae
5. I don't easily gain weight even if I want to. I can eat what ever I want without the fear of getting fat :D.
6. They say that when you get pregnant your shoe size will increase an inch and will be your permanent size after giving birth. Not true with me coz I had the same shoe size after giving birth.
7. I seldom watched movies on big screens as far as I can remember, I watched 1 0r 2 movies in a year.
8. I'm not a coffee person. I only learned to drink and make my own coffee when I started working in the corporate world.

Great Service

I'm having a busy day but I had to post this first a deposit to my Emotional Bank Account :)

Great service comes from the heart. It has to come from the inside out. You cannot mandate it. You can’t threaten, reward, or coerce people to care. You can only awaken the desire and then give them the permission and encouragement to make it come alive in their work.

Simply said, if people don’t have in their hearts the desire to serve and make a difference for others, they will not give great service.

No matter what our job or position may be, we each possess a unique understanding of this world and have our own ideas and gifts to share. Our truest gift can be found in our hearts if we look deeply enough and listen closely. When the heart is in the right place, the ego gets out of the way. That’s when great service comes shining through

The BEND

I love this photo of my daughter..It shows how pa-cute she is. She knows how to pose behind the cam now...see the exagerrated bend? :D Hehehe! I love her yellow shirt that says.."everyone likes me because I'm pretty" It's the shirt she wore during church yesterday.. True enough everyone in the house love her.

the bend (again), with her cousin...the ultimate pa cute...

This one naman was taken last Saturday. Before buying groceries, I took her to the river park in Marikina. She watched the river with amazement.. napa-"wow...." siya talaga... and the grass, she jumped on it with glee. She seldom experience this so it made me think to take her to the park more often so she can see and feel nature.

Take the Rate My Life Quiz

Your Life Analysis:
Life: Your life rating is a score of the sum total of your life, and accounts for how satisfied, successful, balanced, capable, valuable, and happy you are. The quiz attempts to put a number on the summation of all of these things, based on your answers. Your life score is reasonably high. This means that you are on a good path. Continue doing what is working and set about to improve in areas which continue to lag. Do this starting today and you will begin to reap the benefits immediately.
Mind: Your mind rating is a score of your mind's clarity, ability, and health. Higher scores indicate an advancement in knowledge, clear and capable thinking, high mental health, and pure thought free of interference. Your mind score is within a healthy zone. This means you have achieved a level of mental balance and harmony consistent with living a healthy, happy life. Continue doing what works, and keep your focus. In our fast-paced world, mental clutter is all too common. Be vigilant in maintaining healthy mental function.
Body: Your body rating measures your body's health, fitness, and general wellness. A healthy body contributes to a happy life, however many of us are lacking in this area. You have a rather good body score, which is an indication that you take care of yourself. There is room for improvement, however. Please keep doing what works. Eat right, exercise, reduce your stress, treat any illness. Doing these things will help ensure your body will be in good working order for a long time to come.
Spirit: Your spirit rating seeks to capture in a number that elusive quality which is found in your faith, your attitude, and your philosophy on life. A higher score indicates a greater sense of inner peace and balance. Your spirit score is relatively high, which means you are rewarded by your beliefs. Spirituality is clearly important to do. Never let it slip, and continue to learn and grow.
Friends/Family: Your friends and family rating measures your relationships with those around you, and is based on how large, healthy, and dependable your social network is. Your friends and family score is quite healthy. You have a social network you can depend upon. Count your blessings, but never forget that these bonds need to be maintained. Keep your friends and family close.
Love: Your love rating is a measure of your current romantic situation. Sharing your heart with another person is one of life's most glorious, terrifying, rewarding experiences. Your love score is very high, which means you are in a very happy situation right now. Do all you can to keep it strong.
Finance: Your finance rating is a score that rates your current financial health and stability. You have a rather good financial score, which is not all that common these days. Keep doing what works. Avoid common pitfalls and save for the future. You will be glad you did.

The quiz said I rated highest on love...:)
