The Dream {by the husband}

I still dream of stepping on the American soil. Maybe someday, if God permits, I and my family will be able to land in the US, if not for good, at least for a vacation. When that happens we will take time to visit California and see the orange plantations. We might visit also Orlando, Florida and maybe go to the beaches and stay at an Orlando rental and enjoy our moments together. Well, it's only a dream but I believe this can happen if we keep on believing and striving for our dreams.

El Niño

It’s summertime here in the Philippines. Currently, the government is facing a problem in fisheries and agriculture because there is not enough rainfall or we call it El Niño phenomenon. For those in agricultural sector, they have to use irrigation pumps to supply water to their plants like rice, corns and vegetables. In the same way those who are engaged in fisheries will have to use pond pumps to supply water to their fish cages or fish ponds to make sure that their business will not suffer.

The Genius of Barcode Scanners

We are now living in an age where technology is becoming more and more advanced. Everything should be done speedily and accurately. One of the creations of the human genius is the barcode scanner which is operated using a laser beam. One of the places where barcode scanner is used is in the department stores or supermarkets. It scans the items purchased by a customer for the pricing. In this way the cashier will no longer look into the tag price and encode the amount which is very time-consuming.

I'm back...

...well a bit.

I just went through a cesarean section operation for our second child. Undergoing such is really a big challenge for one’s physical condition. The pain is severe especially after the effect of the anesthesia has subsided. Now, I have to take a lot of medications such as antibiotics to prevent infection and promote fast wound healing, pain reliever for pain, anti-inflammatory to avoid inflammations and of course multivitamins to help my body fight against stress and recover fast.

I'll be posting my birthing story and some pics soon.

Rubber Shoes

I would really love to own one of those Skechers shape ups. And I’m a bit excited because my sister said she’ll send each of her sisters a pair when she returns from working in the Middle East next year. I have a Merrel rubber shoes from the dear husband which I really love, and now I’ll be having a shape up? Wow..

An Officer not a Gentle Man :)

We we’re in Ortigas area a while ago driving on our way home when an officer (not really a traffic enforcer) signaled us to stop. As far as I know we didn’t do any traffic violations so I don’t know what he wants with us. He told my husband that he’s going to give us violation ticket because one of our headlights is not working. He said that we could be mistaken as motorcycle because of it and it could be dangerous….well, what do you think? Does he have a point there? I don’t know. He’s not even a traffic enforcer, it’s Feb. 14 and it’s 8:00 in the evening. I was thinking he just wants us to give him something—you know what I mean. And I’m right. But of course my husband didn’t give in. He explained his side and so the officer didn’t insist to give us the ticket. Sometimes this people are disgusting. If he insisted that we pay him I would have called help from an Oklahoma City lawyer…..of course, I’m kidding, hehe. Well, I’m just thankful that the officer didn’t waste so much of our time.

Good Health is a Blessing

Exposure to various substances like dusts and particles that can harm our bodies (like asbestos) are very dangerous. It can cause someone to develop malignant Mesothelioma, a rare form of cancer that affects internal organs like the lungs. I noticed that nowadays, there are new kinds of diseases that evolve, probably because of our evolving earth as well. New viruses are being discovered from time to time which are very harmful to man. That’s why we should be cautious and take good care of our bodies.

What shall we do to take care of our bodies? Eat healthy food, do proper exercise, and never never abused our bodies. Some people abused their bodies by being overworked and having a lot of vices. This is not the way God created us. I believe that our body is the temple of God so we should take good care of it. Let’s always remember that having healthy body is a blessing.

Hair Loss?

There’s a new hair loss treatment that’s being advertised in a Home TV shopping. I saw it one time and thought about my husband. Well, his not yet bald, he just experienced rapid thinning of his hair when he was working in the Middle East. He said it’s because of the water. When he came home last year, I saw what he meant and honestly, it became a priority to me—look for a product that will help solve his problem. But in the first few weeks of his stay, he noticed that the hair fall stopped. We didn’t buy any hair treatment yet that time. Now, he’s quite satisfied with his hair. A few strands grew without using any hair treatment. I guess it’s just really the water. I just don’t know what will happen if he comes back working in Riyadh, lol!

Memo ni Mommy

I'm an avid listener of 702 DZAS. Why, because I don't just get spiritual nuggets, I also learned so much from their programs. Specially Family Matters and Memo Ni Mommy. I even bought a book yesterday....

I've been meaning to buy this book since last year but whenever I have the time, I don't have the money to buy, lol! The book does not cost so much though. It's only P250.00 but I'm practicing my frugality that's why it took me so long to buy a copy.

Anyway, I just read the first 5 memos and so far and I'm getting so much already. I find this book really helpful not just for moms, but also to the dads and guardians. It's indeed a must-read.

A lesson I learned a while ago...

Daddy’s not here. He went out for a while to visit a friend. While he’s out I took the little girl to the nearby mall and ate at Chowking (I’m craving for Halo-halo, lol!). I never thought it would be difficult now for me to travel alone with a little girl in tow. When we were walking I realized, I couldn’t catch up with the little girl. She’s walking faster than me. I felt my knees are shaking (maybe because I’m carrying a big baby inside me, haha!) but no, I don’t need a knee arthritis treatment yet, lol! And while inside Chowking the little girl told me that she’s going to pee, I didn’t thought about that--How can I managed to assist a little girl without worrying that the crews will clean our table when they saw that no one is occupying it. Haayz! Good thing we were seated near the rest room so I led the little girl inside and wait for her to finish while finishing our food. Actually she didn’t pee, she pooped. This made me realized, I won’t leave again without someone to help me with the little girl.

A change to come SOON.

I'm thinking of a different theme for this blog. I just don't have the time yet to do the job but I already downloaded the next theme. I said before that I'll do this once our DSL is installed. Now that we have it, I'm kinda lazy to tweak, lol! Anyway, I still have time. Right now, I'm sooo sleepy to work. I think I'll take a break first...

..but expect for changes in the coming days!

Skin Conscious

Right now I’m reading about skin id reviews to know matters about skin changes. During my pregnancy, I’ve noticed that I looked different. There are areas of my skin that darkened as my pregnancy goes. Whenever people noticed that they will immediately utter that I’m carrying a boy. Oh, I do hope that these changes of my skin are only because of pregnancy and that it will turn back to what it used to be after giving birth. I am getting more and more conscious about it.

The Powert of Love

Cautious.

I received a SMS last month telling me that I was one of the lucky few who won insurance from a certain insurance company in Makati. I just need to reply to their message if I’m interested to claim the said price. I’m a person who’s very cautious when it comes to messages like this. I’ve heard so many stories about scammers thru text messages so I just ignored the message. After a week, they send me again yet another message, and called me twice to inform me that it’s the final notice. Well, I don’t care for free life insurance quotes. It’s better to be safe than sorry. I still didn’t go.

It's Official

I’m now officially on maternity leave. Now I’m not obliged to wake up so early to go to work, walk here and there…or be stressed out. Finally, I can rest…I just hope a full week long rest before giving birth. I still need to inspect everything like our hospital bags, and all the things that we’ll bring to the hospital (aside from the hospital bags). And I promise to be good on the one week of my pregnancy. I’ll never skip any of my prenatalvitamins, drink my milk before bed, and take enough rest. On my Monday I’ll have another lab test, Tuesday my prenatal check-up, and Thursday my Biophysical scan. Quite busy sched but I’m enjoying the rest of the days my baby is inside me.

Investment thoughts

Now is the right time to buy gold bullion for investors especially in Thailand. The Capital Market Supervisory Board has just recently approved Gold exchange-traded funds or ETFs to hit the Thailand stock market. If you’re into stock investments, consider investing on valuable gold bullion. Gold has been tested as one of the best investment to take so investors can never go wrong in it. If I’m an investor I would never hesitate in investing in gold. Why? Because its value does not depreciate. It even continues to increase in value as time goes. If you’re not sure, you can study how god investment works. That’s what I’m doing now. I’m thinking about a good business to start with.

Four things that made my day today...

1. Our DSL connection was finally installed (yipee!)
2. I was able to buy trutol in a lab from a nearby hospital so I was able to save a lot for my OGTT test. My BIL who was a lab technician helped me.
3. I will have another Baby Couture diaper bag and hopefully it will arrived tomorrow.
4. I'm on leave today so I had the whole day spent with my family.

This is such a wonderful day!

"Sidelines"

My business minded sister is asking me to be her reseller of products like Bath and Body Works, Mary Kay Make-ups and Neutrogena skin id. I am not a sales person so I don’t know if I can handle this “side-line” while on maternity leave. I told her I’ll try since I will be free of office related work during my ML but I can’t promise that I’ll be able to sell since I am not good at selling, hahaha! But I do hope I can still earn some while doing this, it’s still an additional income, hehe!

Looking Forwad...

We seldom go out now to go to the mall or eat out. I missed going out with my family. I'm apprehensive to go gallivanting around but whenever the thought that it would be hard for me to make long walks and stroll the mall, I dismiss the idea. Like last Sunday, my siblings were inviting me to go to mall and watch Avatar in 3D after. I almost said yes, but again remembered my present condition. Haayy…it's really hard so I'm so anxious to give birth. I'm counting the days and yes, I only needed to wait 20 more days.  I'll start my ML on the 15th and once I'm fully recovered, that's when I'll spend time to visit the mall and buy all the things that I've eyeing to buy for the house. We needed two children's cabinets, a new bed sheet for the little girl's bed, new sets of curtains and  I hope we can also buy an AC and one of those LCD TVs I saw on display. Oh…I hope I'm not just wishing…..
