Gold Bars

It was surprising news when I heard about a Filipino couple who won 1 million dirham just by purchasing a laptop. The Dh1 million was given to them in a form of gold bars, 9 pieces of them, which are now in safe keeping. They won it luckily through a raffle, with the purchase of a Toshiba laptop. Wow, they are sure so lucky!

Gold bars are good investment for hard assets. Gold does not lose value and is always the best way to preserve one’s wealth and purchasing power. Nowadays, more and more people consider gold as a valuable asset. And those investors and collectors are being guided by precious metals investments companies like the Monaco Rare Coin, a member of Monex family of companies. They help investors and collectors in finding the finest rare and precious metals available. They don’t just help you buy these precious metals but also assist you sell your assets.

Apparently, here in the Philippines we do not give precious metals as prizes so I think this couple should consider getting the assistance of this company for their gold bars. They are too precious to loose.

Summer in Subic

It was a week with rain showers and I thought our planned summer outing won't push through. But God is really good for answering my prayer. I asked for a good weather for this event, and He gave it.

So last Saturday, we had our long over due summer outing. With my colleagues, we drove to Subic. We don't have our annual company outing (due to the global crisis) so we planned our own trip.

Here are pics while we're on the road. It's my first time to travel through SCTEX. I can't believed that the roads are actually built through mountains. The trip was quick because of the good roads.

We arrived before 11am. Because we're all hungry we immediately ordered our lunch. then strolled the place. Btw, the place is Wild Orchid Beach resort.

After lunch, we then went for a swim. We opt to use the pool since the beach area is too crowded and my daughter didn't want the feel of sand on her feet. :D

Unlike our company outing last year, my daughter enjoyed it more now. She enjoyed using the floaters. See?

We only got a little problem when the group decided to stay over night. It was originally a day tour but some colleagues want to enjoy the day to the fullest :D. So we had no choice but to stay with them although I didn't like the idea because of my daughter. Good thing we brought enough milk and a diaper. But my daughter got cranky in the middle of the night, so I didn't get to sleep the whole night. Nanibago yata siya and where we slept is not really comfortable. The five of us , me, my daughter, lilet and her son, Iori and my nanny, slept in one bed! :D

By four am, we head on to leave. We arrived home at 7am giving me enough time to prepare for the church service that morning. After church, we slept the whole afternoon.

All in all, it was fun! Tiring but FUN!

LP 54: Gusali

Thankful Thursday: Don't Worry

This month, Laurie of Women Taking A Stand is the host of Thankful Thursday.

25 "I tell you, do not worry. Don't worry about your life and what you will eat or drink. And don't worry about your body and what you will wear. Isn't there more to life than eating? Aren't there more important things for the body than clothes?

26 "Look at the birds of the air. They don't plant or gather crops. They don't put away crops in storerooms. But your Father who is in heaven feeds them. Aren't you worth much more than they are?

27 "Can you add even one hour to your life by worrying?

28 "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the wild flowers grow. They don't work or make clothing. 29 But here is what I tell you. Not even Solomon in all of his glory was dressed like one of those flowers.

30 "If that is how God dresses the wild grass, won't he dress you even better? After all, the grass is here only today. Tomorrow it is thrown into the fire. Your faith is so small!

31 "So don't worry. Don't say, 'What will we eat?' Or, 'What will we drink?' Or, 'What will we wear?' 32 People who are ungodly run after all of those things. Your Father who is in heaven knows that you need them.

33 "But put God's kingdom first. Do what he wants you to do. Then all of those things will also be given to you.

34 "So don't worry about tomorrow. Tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Matthew 6:25-34

My husband will be returning soon..and soon means 13 days to go. And that also means he won't have a job anymore for a month or two. And because of that, I've spent so much time worrying lately...and it ain't good, I know. I'm thankful though that our midweek service's topic deals on WORRY. And I'm thankful that I've finally surrendered this area of my life to God. The verse above alone speaks strongly about my problem. Why should I worry when I have a God, who knows everything, right?

This week, I'm thankful for
  • His provision, every need is being met.
  • His forgiveness, I've worried so much and I'm glad I know I was forgiven.
  • His peace, that comforts and assures...and
  • The love and understanding between me and my husband. Sometimes we have differences but we always end up understanding and loving each other.

Purse Talk

This tag is from cute Mye :)

  1. Post a picture of whatever bag you are carrying as of late. No, you can't go into your closet and pull out your favorite purse! We want to know what you carried today or the last time you left the house.
  2. List how much it cost. And this is not to judge. This is for entertainment purposes only. So spill it. And if there is a story to go along with how you obtained it, we'd love to hear it.
  3. Tag some chicks. And link back to this post so people know why the heck you're showing everyone your bag.

Okay, this is the bag that my monito gave me last Christmas during our "kris-kringle". It's a Jovanni Bag which actual costs was P1,200. but we got it at half the price. My monito was so generous. Our gifts should only cost P200 but he insisted he'll give this to me. I'm so touched.

Anyway, I use this bag twice a week to match my Tuesday and Thursday uniforms. What's inside? My kikay kit, of course, my wallet, my eye glasses, a hand sanitizer, and a note pad with pen.

I'm now passing this tag to Vannie, Jona, Lilet, Jannese and Milet.

Go Green!

Green is in. I love going to the groceries carrying my SM green bag. It does not only give me additional points for my advantage card, but most especially it allows me to help save the environment. Less plastic bags, less trash. And that makes me proud using my green bag. I just hope that all the establishments here will follow this initiative. We don’t have to undergo Green Study to understand this. We just have to love and keep loving our environment! So let's all get Green!

Connected

Our new DVD/home entertainment system arrived last Wednesday, of course, courtesy of my DH {darling husband} :). And guess what? As soon as I was able to set everything up, my little lady hand me all of her DVDs!

So we spent the long vacation watching DVDs. And I ended up watching Barbie-The Diamond Castle a hundred times! (okay, that's an exaggeration--10 times for the whole vacation) that's because the little lady loves it so much. She loves all the songs in that video. She loves humming the theme song "connected" whatever she's doing and wherever she is. Do you know that she sang that also to me when I was reprimanding her nanny? lol!

Helping out

My brother-in-law is asking me if I know of any company who buys secondhand network equipments particularly used cisco products. It’s one of their company’s initiatives to get additional budget especially now that the economic condition is still not getting better. And also their initiative for their company’s cost-reduction and recycling program. Actually, I’m also searching the net for any companies engage on this. I wish I could help.

He is RISEN!

God's love for us is truly AMAZING that he has given us His son to save us...we cannot outgive Him for He gave His life for us. We can only give Him our hearts filled with worship, and our lives surrendered to Him.....

God deserves all the highest praise and glory!

My long vacation...

The long vacation will be over soon. And I’ve got a train of thoughts on this…I’m thankful for the long holiday, I was able to bond with my daughter. I’ve got plenty of time with her and I did enjoy it. I was able to fix things in the house, did a little rearrangements and make-over. I was able to read some books and watch a number of movies. On the side note, I’m quite sad that we we’re not able to hold our family outing which we usually do every Friday of the Holy Week. Our schedules did not meet. But we plan to hold it maybe next Saturday. My sisters will just have to file their leaves.

Anyway, I’m just thankful for the long vacation. And since we’re going to go back to our regular schedules next week, I’ll make the most of the rest of it. Tomorrow, we’ll be going to the mall to buy an AVR for my pc, check the price of an external DVD writer, buy another micro sd for my phone, and see what else needs to be done.

How about you, how was your vacation going?

Big girl na talaga ang anak ko....

Yesterday, we were playing inside the room when she accidentally hit me on the head. It hurts a bit so I paused for a moment, lay down and put my hands on my head. Suddenly, she asked me, "mommy, sakit?.....you want water?" She left and when she came back, she already got me a glass of water (a plastic glass, which she filled by herself through the water dispenser). Good thing the dispenser was not plugged in so the water is neither hot or cold. I took the glass, drank and thanked her. I think that's one of her ways to tell me she's concerned.

Then today, when I was reprimanding our helper (I'll write another post about this), inaawat niya ko. She kept on hugging my legs and interrupts me so I'll get distracted. Then when we were on the bed, about to sleep, I was surprised to hear these statement from her, "mommy, please, waag ka na galit kay yaya.." she said it three times. Three times! Did she really know what she just said? I was really surprised to hear this from a 34month old child. Now I'll make sure that I'll be careful with everything I'll say and do when she's around. Everything she sees and hear can be easilly processed by her little, maturing mind. :)

Issues

There were issues here in the office which brought about the release of a memo from our president which reiterates business ethics. I don’t know the whole story but as I see it, it concerns some employees and their relationships with their suppliers. I don’t know a lot about purchasing, suppliers and material handling and I don’t belong in a department that deals a lot on these either. But I feel for those employees who were affected. Haaay…there will be always be company issues that we can't avoid sometimes.

Always ready

Just want to share some pictures of my daughter last Saturday on our way to the church for the film showing. She would always strike a pose whenever she spotted a nice location. :)

More waiting time

I called our developer lat week to follow up when we’ll be able to take out the house. Hubby is already excited to go home also because of the house. So, I called. But I didn’t get a good answer from them. They said that the papers are still to be delivered to HDMF. That means we have to wait two more months for the release of the approval. Two more months! *Sigh*

…We all thought that we’ll be able to transfer next month, buy some furniture… paint the rooms…plan the decorations…etc.. and maybe buy a dog since we can already have one now that we have our own house...but no..

Anyway, two months is not that long. We can just spend that time preparing for everything. Maybe buy other things we need including cat supplies, errr.. I mean dog supplies while we’re waiting.

Our Weekend {April 4-5}

I was not able to post this yesterday. It’s a holiday so I just stayed home and made sure that I’d spent the whole day, with my daughter.

Anyway, last Saturday, I woke up early because I planned to go to the prayer mountain. It’s a must for me every time I’ll lead our congregation to worship. I left the house at 6:30 and was able to arrive at the mountain at 7:30. It was a cool, refreshing morning. I had a wonderful travel experience. I stayed there for only two hours since I also have another activity to attend to at 1:30 in the afternoon. It’s a film showing which is related to Holy Week. So when I got home, I just took a bath, had our lunch then proceeded to the church. It lasted until 5pm. The film was a documentary one that highlighted the result of an atheist’s research to prove that Jesus Christ is not God but after two years of thorough investigation, proved otherwise and these results prompted him to accept God. It was a good film.

The next morning we also woke up early for the Sunday service. I will be the worship leader that’s why I need to come early. Hubby’s friend from Riyadh who arrived last Thursday attended our service. All in all, it was a wonderful service.

After church, our worship team had lunch at Max's Marquinton...Just a simple get together before they head on to the Shed Camp. It's a worship team camp which will be held at the prayer mountain from Monday to Wednesday. Unfortunately, I won't be able to join them because of the schedule...

Then after that we took the kids to SM Marikina. It has been months since our last visit to that mall. We just bought something for the kids, ate our dinner and strolled a bit. Went home tired but the kids were all happy.

A long vacation without a plan

Its going to be a long vacation because of the holy week. It could be more fun if hubby is already home. We can spend the long week somewhere for a summer get away, perhaps go to the beach or go for an rv camping. But since hubby will be home two weeks after the holy week we can’t do any of these. We’re planning for a family outing this weekend. I wonder where my sisters are planning to take us…

LP 51: Paboritong Litrato

{ This is one of my favorite photo of me and my daughter. This was taken last July 6, 2008 outside our home. The weather was perfect that day so I took my daughter out so she can play with her bicycle while I was sitting nearby watching her play. Suddenly, she came and told me she wants to have a picture taken. I really love the colors of this picture.}

Ito naman ay kuha noong Pebrero 26, 2007. Ito ay kuha sa isang restaurant sa Mall of Asia. Ito ang huling masayang litrato naming mag anak bago umalis ang asawa ko papuntang Riyadh.

{This one was taken last February 26, 2007. This was taken in a restaurant at Mall of Asia. This was the last happy picture of us before my husband left for Riyadh.}
