Undaunted the Musicale

I watched “Undaunted the Musicale” at the Ultra last Friday with my office mates. It was great. The show is about the family story of the Lopez family, the owner of the corporation where our company is one of the members. It was great to know their history. Employees were able to understand how we our founded and the values that the family is holding on for almost a century.

On the other side, it was the only show I attended that’s not only free for the attendees; there are even free snacks and lots of surprises! They have given away appliances, gift checks, a Sony playstation 3, and cash gifts ranging from P20,000 to P50,000! Those who won them are really blessed, and I am one of the unlucky ones, lol!

Anyway, I’m glad to have watched it.

SM One Day ONLY Exclusive Sale on June 30

I got from my email and so I’m looking forward to this:

SM will have a one day only sale on June 30 (that’s tomorrow!) and they promised that it’s an all items sale but exclusive to members of SM advantage and BDO card holders. I bet there will be a lot of promotional items at every corners of the malls but I hope that it’s going to be a real all-items sale because I have so many things to buy for the house and for the kids. Geez….I’m excited to hit the mall tomorrow!

The Rainy Day Test

Just perfect for today's weather....

Rain Makes You Happy

You tend to move slowly, but you still get a lot done. You are steady.

You are down to earth and practical. You like to live an ordered and organized life.

You find it difficult to be comfortable, and you are often shocked by your surroundings.

You prefer to be around a wide variety of people. You believe that you learn a little something from everyone.

You find peace when you are alone. You know how to balance your emotions well.

MJ is Four Months!

Yes...his growing up so fast is inevitable :)

According to ivillage, here are the milestones of babies at 4 months:

Body Movement

  • Arm and leg movements are better controlled.
  • Rolls over from tummy to back with ease.
  • When lying on tummy, his legs straighten, and he will make swimming movements with both arms and legs.
  • Holds head erect when sitting.
  • Kicks legs a lot. Splashes hands and feet in bathtub.

Eye-Hand Coordination

  • Head and eyes move in coordinated motion.
  • Both hands grasp at approximate size of object to manipulate it, then baby puts object in her mouth.
  • Easily tracks objects with her eyes.
  • Watches moving people and gazes across a room.
  • Explores own body with hands.
  • Looks for complexity and novelty in surroundings.
Thinking Skills
  • Mouths everything to explore objects.
  • Prefers bright colors of red and yellow to black and white.
  • Begins to realize he is distinct from objects "out there" and to realize his actions cause something to happen.
  • Enjoys listening to speech and music. Babbles for his own pleasure with chuckles, giggles, shrieks and laughs.
  • Listens to himself talk. Says "da, ba, ma, pa, ga" consonant sounds. Notices how his speech influences adult actions -- "m-m-m" brings Mom to feed him.
  • Looks around to find source of a sound. Is quieted by music.

Emotional Development

  • Responsive to play for one hour at a time.
  • Shows signs of being tired -- will yawn, rub eyes, refuse to play, suck thumb or become restless and irritable.
  • May drool and be fussy if teething.
  • Is developing her unique personality within a predictable daily routine -- how active she is, how intensely she responds to things, what her patience and tolerance for frustration are.
  • Senses if her behavior is unacceptable to parent during daily interactions. Reacts to your tone of voice and expression.
  • Expresses joy, unhappiness, contentment, tiredness. Crying decreases as she expresses feelings with new sounds, gestures.
  • Recognizes family members with whom she lives. Loves to laugh and play with people. Vocalizes more to real person than picture.
  • Demands social attention by fussing. Cries if play is disrupted.
  • Attempts to soothe self when crying. Yells, fusses if frustrated.

I'm so happy that I can already see these to my son. He's even a advance because he was able to roll-over at 3 and a half month. He enjoys playing with his newly discovered pair of hands, and squeals, babbles, laughs and drools a lot, hehe!

Mommy Moments - Daddy Moments

mommy moments

Today is Father's Day and Mommy Moments is honoring our dearest dads (husbands). Here are some pictures of our daddy moments:

When daddy returned from working abroad, I witnessed how he devoted so much time to take care of our daughter. And when we have our son, he was a hands-on dad. He was a "stay-at-home-dad" for one year and even though he doesn't have a job, I appreciate so much the time he gave to our kids. He's been a very loving daddy. Now that he's back in Riyadh, he never fails to check on the kids, and tell them how much he loves them.

We are indeed so blessed to have him.

Reminiscing

It’s father’s day on Sunday and I’m feeling a bit sad that the husband’s not here to celebrate it. I really miss my husband. Although we talk through email every day, and go to hear his voice and talk to him during Friday, its still not the same when he’s here. Now I’m just reminiscing the times we spent together as a family before he left. Last April 30, we went to the Mall of Asia to celebrate his birthday. I remember how happy we are during that day. We really had fun. Hubby and little girl enjoyed watching the sunset through the binoculars placed on one side of the mall facing Manila Bay. They also enjoyed riding the Wow Wheels. It was really a fun fun day. We went home at already 11pm, tired but happy. It would be two years of waiting again before we can have another day like that. Sigh…

Keeping Your Pets Safe

You love your pets, and you always want to keep them healthy and happy. You take them to veterinarian for regular checkups. You keep them healthy by getting them checked for heartworm and use preventative medications such as Frontline Plus. You give them a healthy and happy home. But there are some hazards around the home that you should be aware of.

For instance some foods and drinks that we humans enjoy can cause serious harm to your pets. Alcoholic and caffeinated beverages are harmful as is chocolate which can cause liver damage. Fatty foods can be dangerous as well. Some other known food hazards that your pets should not eat include grapes (including raisins), onions and macadamia nuts. Also keep medications of any kind out of reach of your pets—aspirin is very harmful to cats especially.

There are many other household items that can hurt your family companion. In the garage keep your pets away from antifreeze, rodent bait, fertilizers, and pesticides. Believe it or not, that ice melt product is especially harmful, as are car care products including oil and general cleaners.

If you have a pool or pond, keep the products used in those water features out of reach of your pets. Other potential household dangers include electrical cords and any other loose wires or codes that your pet could possible chew or become entangled in.

When traveling with your pet in your car, never put your pet in the back of your truck. He or she may fall or jump out while the vehicle is moving; don’t tie them to the bed of the truck either. Use a securely anchored crate if you must transport your pet in the back of your truck.

And finally don’t leave your pet inside your car during hot weather. Even a few minutes in a hot car can cause serious injuries including heatstroke or brain damage.

Thankful Thursday: God is Always On Time

I thank God because He always answers prayers. Sometimes we don't know why He seems quiet or why he's not giving what we asked for on times that we want it badly but when the answers come, we will just realize that He is God and he knows when to give that thing that we are praying for at the right time. His timing is always perfect.

We've proven this a lot of times. And lately it's about the husband's work. He has been jobless for over a year since the day he returned from working abroad. He sent applications to many companies trying to look for another job, but to no avail until the time I gave birth to our second child. Life was not easy since, I am on leave and not receiving any salary. But blessings just keep on coming. :) Our needs were met and I called it miracle.

Last Friday we sent him off. I realized that if he was given the job offer earlier it would be difficult on my part. I will be left alone with a toddler and a baby on the way. We are also praying so hard for a helper. We've talked to so many people for referrals but no one was hired until the day before hubby left. And it was not even a stranger. God gave us somebody whom I know and is responsible and trustworthy enough to leave the kids under her care. God never neglected our needs. He always answer.

Today, I'm also thankful that I was able to talk to my husband already and to know that he arrived there safe. Thanks to technology. Communication now is made easy.

I praise and thank God for all the things that He's doing in our lives.

Alone Again

The husband finally left. that afternoon after sending him off, we went home feeling lonely. the silence and loneliness is really hard to bear. My little girl saw me crying and she said, "Mommy, umiiyak ka ba?Please don't cry mommy, kasi kasama naman natin si Jesus eh, di ba sabi ni daddy?"
Yes, I do beleive what she said. But I can't help but cry. When reality bites, it's really hard to accept. The day before he left, I still feel okay. But when the day finally came, I feel like wishing that time would just stop. If he cannot negotiate with his boss for a vacation after a year, it will be another two years of waiting. *Sniff...sniff*

But God really gives his answer to our prayers always on time. His timing is perfect. If hubby left before I gave birth, it would be very difficult for me and on his part, he would not be able to see our baby and he would not be able to take care of him hands-on. God also gave us a new helper before hubby left. Perfect timing. So I really thank God.

The life of an OFW and an OFW wife is really hard. But I know .kaya namin to with God's help, and guidance. The Lord will see us through

Anyways, here's some pics when we send the hubby off....

Joining Monet's Contest

Monet is giving away a great gift for her Freebie Friday #5. Just answer the question: "What are your suggestions or wishes for the new administration?", and go to her blog for other mechanics. Who knows you might win one of this lovely watches.

Here's my answer to the question:

I wish that the new president will run an honest but effective government. And that he will not lose the confidence of the Filipino people, and he will not destroy the people's trust that we will have a transparent, honest and good government.
