Chopsuey

Our house's paint work was done yesterday, the painter informed me. I'll be visiting again the village tomorrow to check if they painted it right. After that, I'll check with the developer if they can give me quotation for the gate. I'm excited to finally see it.

****

My daughter has been prompting me all week that she want to go and play on the slides. And whenever I said , yes...I'll take her to the slides, she'll shout with glee. Hubby said I should take her to a play area where she can have fun. I'll do that tomorrow since I promised my daughter I'll take her to the slides tomorrow.

****
I'll also check the state of our jeep tomorrow. I need to check everything before hubby returns.

Thankful Thursday: Privileged

The LORD is my strength and my song;
He has become my salvation.
He is my God, and I will praise him,
my father's God, and I will exalt him.
Exodus 15:2
Last Sunday, our topic was the 7 Churches of Asia which was mentioned by John on Revelations. Our pastor let us watched a video about a group's journey in Ephesus (now Turkey) and as they go to their journey, several things were revealed to me. Indeed we are privileged that we lived in the present times were we are free to express our worship to God. We are privileged that Christians now are not being persecuted like what Paul and John experienced before. But I admire the passion and courage of Paul and John as they faithfully do their mission in Ephesus, a place of great immorality during their time. This week, I was able to attend a worship shed session gathering and our guest speaker reiterated the privilege we have in serving God that we, Christians should not neglect. That message dawned on me.

  1. I'm thankful for the responsibility of being a worship leader in our church. I believe that I did not chose to be one but He chose me. And that's a privilege.
  2. I'm thankful for the different activities our church is producing for workers like me which made us realize more the importance of our duties not only in the church but to the people around us.
  3. I'm thankful for the freedom we have now to read God's word, worship Him in the open, and proclaim His grace and salvation that early Christians didn't experience because of persecution.
  4. I'm thankful that everyday the Holy Spirit is there to remind me, convict me and correct me, that way, I know I am able to walk according to His will.
  5. I'm thankful for the good health, daily provision and protection He is extending to me and to my loved ones.
God is really Good! and I give Him praise. Share the things you're thankful for here.

Erroneous.

I got hold of my annual physical examination result the other day and as expected, my BMI is not normal and I am underweight. From a weight of 43kgs last year, now I’m down to 41kgs. and I never took any diet pills to get that weight. What’s funny was that the doctor’s recommendation is so ironic. This is what was written on the result: “weight reduction to ideal”. Haha! I’m wondering if he’s really a doctor. But of course I won't follow the recommendation :D

Manic Monday #156

What's one of the simple pleasures in your life?
~Sleep, because I am not getting enough sleep lately.

What do you like to snack on when you watch a movie?
~Popcorn! an all-time favorite movie snack

If you were a Survivor contestant, what would be your luxury item?
~I'm not an outdoor type of person and I don't really like Survivor, nor being one of the contestants, but if ever..it would be a digital camera and lots of water!

Two months to go...

I was chatting with my hubs just a while ago…he mentioned that he’s already packing his things because he will send it ahead so he won’t have any baggage when he comes home. It’s difficult to carry big boxes along, that’s why. It will be a breeze if he only carries his Samsonite luggage. Everyday that we talk about his coming home…I’m getting more and more ecstatic. Two months to go…

WS: Chasing Butterflies

The little girl and I went to the sports park early Saturday morning to jog a little and get a little bit of fresh air. After that we went to the nearby McDonald's as she really wanted to play at the play place..she wants to play on the slides so I let her. But because she's still small, and she doesn't have anybody to guide her on the slides, she wasn't able to play...she didn't had fun She was even bullied a little bit by one of the big boys playing. So we left McDonald's with my sad little girl.

To lighten up her mood I took her to the garden inside Marquinton Residences where she was able to play and chase butterflies. Here she is...running and chasing butterflies...

She also got me a flower (she saw it lying on the floor so she picked it up).....maybe it's her way of saying "Thank you mommy..."

More weekenders here!

Inventory

I was busy doing some inventory of the medicines that the New York doctors sent last month. Our company is partnering with them for a three day medical mission and since the meds were sent to us, we are responsible to check them before delivering them to the hospital. So yesterday, I was swamped with counting each and every packs of medicine, and baffled over the different names ending in “-ine” and “-in”. Some co-employees who saw me asked if there are fat burners available, unfortunately, the meds only includes multivitamins and some generics, no Apidexin or the like. Anyway, these meds will be given free to indigents patients of San Juan who will join the medical mission which will begin on Monday…so I’ll be busy again for three days. Expect a M-I-A me again..haha!

Thankful Thursday: Shepherd of My Soul

1The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.
2He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters. 3He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
4Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You have anointed my head with oil;
My cup overflows.
6Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Psalm 23

I know my post is a li'l bit late. I wasn't able to write my entry earlier because I needed to attend to an important matter this morning... Anyway, last night I attended our midweek service and our pastor is sharing a series on " God's Lost and Found" . Last night, he shared about the lost sheep which can be found in Luke 15: 1-7. As he shared, I am able to understand more deeply God's goodness to us. Yeah, we are like sheep who really needs a shepherd and I am thankful that He is a good shepherd in deed.

  1. I'm thankful for God's salvation. He is so compassionate enough that he even made the first step to our salvation. He did not let us to be wandering around like lost sheep.He made His salvation available even to us " gentiles'
  2. I'm thankful for those people who prayed for me. I believe that someone prayed for me so I can be saved. And that is what I am committing to do as well...to pray for those people who needs salvation. I know nothing is impossible with God he can break even the hardest heart.
  3. I'm thankful for God's protection. provision, rescue, and the rest that I can find only through Him.

What are you thankful for this week? Share it here.

Colors!

See that? It's a color swatches booklet. And these what keeps me busy and excited. We are now going to choose for the color of the house. And guess what color our house would be?

You'll find out on the coming days :D

I'm getting excited every time I see new development on the construction of the house. I can't help but imagine every details of it. The paints, the gate, or whether we'll have tiles or wood flooring... That's what happens when I'm excited! ^_^

Our Weekend

I did not celebrate V-Day last Saturday...hub's not here so it was like an ordinary day. I spent the whole day in our church center since we had an activity for the church workers. That's why I also missed bonding with my baby. So last Sunday after the service, we went out for lunch with my sisters. I also bought her this cute and cuddly Care Bear - Wish Bear.

My daughter loves going to SM Marikina. That's where we went last Sunday. We also had a photo opp at the mall's Valentine display. See the picture above? Jaden stayed for a while at the display as she loves the red hearts.

95% Potty Trained..

And I'm looking forward to a 100% success.

I was supposed to write about this last week but many things prevented me from blogging...

Anyway, I am just so happy that since last week, my daughter haven't wet any shorts or undies! Yes..and that's quite an accomplishment! I stop putting diapers on her during the day since November last year. And since then, the laundry is filled with shorts soaked with urine. So the nanny will washed them everyday. I only put diapers on her during the night as I don't want our bed to stink. Last month, she finally learned where to pee but sometimes she forget and when she ran out of time she will just pee on the spot. When she pooped, she's 100% trained already. She knows now where to go and she will call me or her nanny to assist her as she will go direct to the comfort room and not on her potty trainer. There was also a time when she was wearing a jogging pants and an underwear, she was shouting "wee-wee!" while hastily removing her pants then immediately ran toward her potty-trainer and sat down. When she finished she said, "very good...!"

I am thinking now of completely removing her from diapers. Maybe I'll just think of a way to get rid of a soaked and stinky bed.

Amazing Love

Father (Amazing Love)
by: hillsong

Amazing love has won my heart
I am in awe of all You've done
You gave us Jesus and with Him
You freely give us everything
Amazing love sets me free
From all that would weigh down on me
You are my strength, my help, my friend
And my hope - life without end

Father, my Father I am so secure in You
Your perfect love drives away all my fear
Father I love You for You have loved me first
And I am grateful for amazing love

Thankful Thursday: God's Love

“I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your LOVE, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the sky”
Psalm 57:9-10

Because your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify you.
Psalm 63:3

I guess all over the world people are looking forward to Valentine's Day, which is just a few days away. For me who's far from my husband, Valentine's day does not appeal so much. Instead I am meditating on God's love. I was assigned to lead the worship on Sunday and I have prepared songs about His love. And as I listen to these songs. It adds to my amazement of God's love. No one and nothing can really compare to it. It's so amazing!

This week, here's what I'm thankful for:
  • Thank you Lord for your love that is constant, perfect, immeasurable and "stubborn", that even though I fail You at times, Your love never changes. You first love us and You will continuously love us.
  • Thank you for the opportunity of serving you through my talent.
  • Thank you Lord for my husband who never cease on loving me and my daughter as well. Though he's far, we never felt that he is.
  • Thank you for giving a friend like Arlene who help me to be able to contact the person who wrote the song that I've been looking for. It was a relief!

What are the things that you're thankful of? Share it here.

A Quick Update

I finally visited the site where our house is being constructed last Saturday and this is what I saw...

The house is still being constructed. It's a two bedroom single detached house with a little space for yard. It's not big but finally...it's a house that we can call our own. The developer said construction will be done by the end of February and we can transfer probably by April.

Hubby was happy to finally see it.

Swing high, swing low

It's my daughter's first time to see and ride on a swing. So when she got the chance, she enjoyed it.

These pictures was when we went to Pan De Amerikana in Marikina. We went there for a snack and enjoyed a bit of nature. The place was relaxing. The little girl really enjoyed the place. She ran to and pro and climbed up and down the stage.

Maybe aside from baby bedding, I'll consider putting a swing like this in the nursery.

When I thought the final was final...

Well, It's not.

Hubby decided to file an exit visa and he will be arriving on April.

I don't know what to feel...

I got sick

I was MIA again...this time not because I'm busy. I got sick for two days. My gastro hit me again. Hayz!

The other day I went home early since I was not feeling well. When I got home, my daughter was sleeping in the sala. So I went immediately to the room and covered my self with blanket. When I woke up I already had fever and my daughter was on my side...she was crying. It's the first time I saw her so concerned about me. Here's what I heard her saying while her tears pouring...

"Mommy, sakit ba?"
"Mommy, hot ka.."
"Mommy, o... fisket oil...(giving me the efficascent oil, maybe because this is what I usually rub on her tummy when she says it hurts. She thought that would also relieved my pain)

When I take my meds she smiled at me and her eyes twinkled and said.."Mommy, no more sakit?"

I was so touched knowing that my daughter love me so much.
