Vacation

Before he went on his business trip, my boss talked to us about securing our passports even if we do not have a scheduled trip abroad yet because we wouldn’t know when a traveling opportunity comes. We must be ready to travel anytime. Well as for me, I’ve already secured my own passport as well as my daughter’s. Not for any business trip but for a possible family vacation somewhere abroad. Who knows we might be able to avail one of those orlando vacations promo? How I wish it will be soon…

Our Fun Saturday at Fun Ranch

I was able to register my daughter and 2 nieces for the Fun Ranch's October Thrills (Trick or Treat) and so, last Saturday, we head on to take the kids for the treats. The registration starts at 12 noon so we went there ahead of time but there are already a lot of kids around.

Some of the fun activities are that the kids really enjoyed are the face painting, glitter tattoos, and kids salon. Though we really patiently waited at Kid's Salon for my daughter's turn to come. And I'm so satisfied with what the hairstylist did on her hair. Look...

After the hair styling sessions, we watched the program for a while then we head on to the participating shops for the kid's treats. They were all so happy whenever they get something for their pumpkins :).

It was tiring but fun. the kids really enjoyed the day :)

Uh-oh...I'm getting bigger...

I’m on my 20th week of pregnancy now and I could almost feel that I’m gaining weight. I gained 2 kilos from my last month check up. I haven’t checked my weight again yet but I felt bigger. I just hope that I won’t gain so much after the end of my last trimester. I’m tad bit worried that I might use tonalin cla just to lose weight if ever. Gosh, hope I won’t.

It's not an Act of God.

Act of God. I hear this a lot lately from our finance officer and our logistic staff who's handling the maintenance of our company cars and insurance. With the recent flood, some of our company cars were affected, that's why they are using the term, "act of God," for insurance claims.

Last night I attended our midweek service since I’ll be the one leading the worship. Our coach shared Genesis chapter 9, God’s covenant with Noah after the great flood. He reiterated God's promises as he placed a covenant between Him and man after that great flood. God said on His words:

Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood; never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.

I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.

With this we can conclude that some of the things that we are now experiencing are not acts of God but the effects of man’s actions. Man’s disrespect with nature and man’s negligence. A lot of diseases nowadays like cancers and mesothelioma can be charge as well with man’s negligence, and irresponsibility with nature. So we should not blame God. That’s my stand with regards to the recent flood in our city.

We're Moving.

We’ve finally decided to let go of the house we planned to buy from HDMF and decided to just rent for a while until we’re able to save enough to buy a property not under HDMF. So last week, we’ve decided to scout a house somewhere in Marikina that was not affected by the flood. Luckily we found one in Marikina Heights. We’ve already visited the place and talked to the owner and finally closed the deal. We’ll be moving next month. Hubby also decided not to sell the car anymore since the house that we got has a garage where it can be parked. I’m thankful for that. That car has a sentimental value to us so I am really having second thought when he told me he wants to sell it. Now, we’ll just improve that car with necessary car accessories. This will be one of the things on our list to start our 2010 plan.

I'm excited for the new house. This week, we'll be starting to buy boxes to pack our things. It will be a new start that I hope, a really good start for us...

Eating Double?

Well, I don't believe that you should eat for two people if you're pregnant. If you do, you'll gain so much weight!

As for me, I really hope that I won’t gain so much weight during my pregnancy. I’m already on my 19th week and the food aversions and morning sickness are already gone so now I eat almost all the food that I love. And I eat a lot! During lunch in the office, I added additional half cup rice from my previous 1 cup. And I eat twice what I’m eating during the afternoon breaks. I know, I know, I’m bad :D. So starting tomorrow, I’ll monitor what I’ll eat and control myself from eating too much. I’ll also make sure that I eat enough vegetables and fruits every day. I’m determined not to gain weight because I don’t want to suffer just to lose belly fat after my pregnancy :).

Silver Investments

Will you prefer silver jewelries over gold ones? I don’t think so since gold is a very popular precious stone. Even I would always prefer gold jewelries from sterling silver. But did you know that like gold, silver is also one of the popular metals that people invests on?

Silver is of lesser value comparing to gold. But during the early times it has been regarded as well as a form of money. Remember? Judas betrayed Jesus with 30 pieces of silver? As early as the bible’s time, silver had been widely used as a form of money.

But since nowadays silver and gold is not anymore regarded as money, it can still be a good means for successful businesses. More people now are into silver investment. And according to an article I read, investors of silver increased in 2009 and will continue to increased in the years to come.

But why invest in silver and not gold? Well, if you can’t afford investing in gold, then try investing in silver, right? There are various methods on how to invest in silver. One is the traditional way which is buying silver bullion bars. In Switzerland, silver bullion bars can be sold or even bought over the counter on major banks. Another way is buying silver coins. I think silver coins are priced according to their age. I’m not really particular about it but to make sure, you can ask the experts at the commodity market for I think they have different prices for junk silver coins and sterling silver coins. Another method is buying silver rounds. From what I’ve searched, silver rounds are produced by a huge array of mints, generally contain a troy ounce of silver in the shape of a coin.

But here’s one thing that first time investors should remember. Whether you invest on gold or silver, you must equip yourself with the important and relevant information before entering this business. Read, research, and educate your selves. Because like the stock markets, silver investment can be very risky as well if you do not know what you’re entering into. And just make sure that what you’re using for any investments is not hard earned money but only your extras because if you fail, it could be very hard to accept.

Still working...

Thank God there's no power interruption the whole day today. I was able to finish all that's on my to-do list and of course my online tasks. One more tasks to go and I'm off to bed. My back is already aching but since I need to finish every today, I opted to ignore it. I just hope that I'll wake up on time later :)

One thing every household should have.

Last week I bought a rechargeable light with fan at the Handyman in Robinson's Galleria. That was the time that Meralco informed the public that there will be rotational black-outs or power interruption in Quezon City, Marikina, and Rizal over the week. When I went to the store the emergency lights and other items of the same kind are almost sold out. So when i was able to got hold one, I immediately bought it. It's quite pricey but I know this is one good item to invest on specially sincet we have a child in the house.

Sure enough when I got home that day, the power is out but the little enjoyed it still having enough light and a fan to make her comfortable even during black-outs. I think it's a must that every household should have an emergency rechargeable light always ready and available inside.

Why Gold?

Do you know of someone whose business is buying and selling gold? My parents has a friend who’s investing in gold and is now a successful businessman. I don’t know so much about this business and why investors buy gold then sell them after, but I think this is one of the best business to pursue and invest on. But first time gold buyers should be equipped with all the necessary information before venturing in this business, let alone buying their first gold bullion.

Why do they invest on gold? Well, first and foremost, gold is the most popular precious stone for an investment. It can be sold as gold bars or as precious jewelries when melted. Gold bullion have been used even by first Filipinos during the barter times in exchange for products from other countries like China.

Even before the existence of american eagle gold coins, gold has been used worldwide as money. And like money, all commodities were priced in relation to the relative & similar quantity of gold per region during the pre war period. Now, more and more investors believe that the value of gold will not go down but will continue to rise up instead. Thus, having gold for an investment makes it a safe haven for them against any economic, political, social or currency-based crises. When you have gold in your safe, you will definitely feel secure even if the economic condition is down. But like investing in stock markets, it’s also very risky to venture in this type of business.

As for me, I would really love to learn more about this business. Who knows, once I mastered everything about investing in gold, I could succeed and eventually helped out in our finances? At times like this we must be more pro active when it comes to looking for additional income for the family, right? That’s why I always search the net for some opportunity that will really help us. But since I know, we’re not yet capable of venturing into this business, financially speaking, I’ll just equipped myself with lots of info about investing in gold and maybe someday, I’ll be able to call myself a gold investor.

Ninuninu....

It's already a quarter before 12am and I'm still here, doing a blog marathon.

The little lady is already sleeping which I'm really thankful. She keeps on interrupting me every 10 minutes and I can't help but pay attention to her since I don't want to hurt her feelings...that's what mom's are for right?

Well, I just hope that I'll be able to finish everything before the deadline. Whew! It's really brain draining and a challenging one. Oh well, the life of an online worker :D.

Mommy Moments - Special Trips

mommy moments

Here's my late entry for this week's theme...

These are just two of the special trips my little lady enjoyed last year and early this year. Last year she enjoyed our trip to Manila Ocean Park. She had fun and was so amazed at all the fishes in that she saw inside the aquatic park.

Then our trip in Mindoro last May. There she was able to meet her grandparents (hubby's side) and some of her cousins. It was her first province experience. No TV and just active play with her cousins. She really enjoyed our three days vacation there.

Master it easy.

My boss is currently taking up his PhD and he’s taking it the traditional way. By next year, he’ll be busy with his thesis again. And for sure, I’ll be busy as well. I’m just wondering if he already knows that online graduate school for working adults now exist.

Getting your masters and doctor’s degree is now made easy with university online. Many of these online universities offer almost all the relevant courses for graduate schools like business, IT, psychology, education, and even human services. Online education is very much in demand nowadays. One because it’s very accessible and educational tools are available anytime of the day, exchange of information and communication is also swift which is an advantage both for students and teachers.

So if someday I’ll decide to get my masters, I’ll consider getting it from an online university...like Capella University since from what I've heard, it's one of the best.

Saturday 9: Lie to Me

It's my first time to join this meme..I hope I'll be able to join often. here's my entry for this week:

1. Can you tell when someone is lying to you? Not always but oftentimes I can determine if someone is lying specially if the person is not used to doing so. The voice cracked, and they can't even look to you straight in the eye.

2. Tell us about one of your flaws. Do you live with it or try to correct it?
One of my physical flaw is my small cup size... I just live with it :)

3. When was the last time you laughed hard and what struck you as funny?
Just this morning during the Sunday service when our preacher cracked a joke. I can easily laugh even to the silliest joke.

4. Tell us about a time when you should have tried harder.
Maybe I should have tried harder when I was choosing the course to study in college.

5. If you won the lottery, what would you buy first?
Pay off all debts first, then buy a house for me and my parents.

6. What movie do you know every word to?
Oh I guess, none.

7. What was the best thing that happened to you this week?
Receiving a favor from a friend :)

8. What was the worst thing that happened to you this week?
Receiving a call from someone I didn't expect.

9. What do you think is the biggest difference between men and women?
Hmm...girls loves shopping and it will took them hours to choose the best dress. Men can shop and decide on a shirt in seconds.

I'm here...

Its been a while again. I wasn't able to post some updates since there were rotational power interruptions in my place lately. Also, blogger has been blocked in our office...so sad :(

Anyway, things are slowly going back to normal in our place. The garbage dumps are now being removed by MMDA and so far they have cleared and cleaned a lot of barangays already. The sun is up and shining as well so the mud on the roads were all dried up. So far, I can already see that everything will be back no normal in no time. I just felt sad that the typhoon has hit the Luzon as well and from what I saw in the news last night, it has left a lot of places in Luzon in a very devastating condition...and all I can do is just pray for them.. :(

As for me, I'm already 18 weeks pregnant. I can't wait to reach my third trimester. I'm also happy to see that the little lady is now beginning to accept the fact that she's now an "ate". She loves kissing my tummy and talking to the baby inside it :). I just hope that she'll be as good and kind when the baby arrives. As I'm posting this, the little lady is fast asleep. The husband is out to preach to the congregation in Mandaluyong, and the new helper (I'll post about her next time), is out for her day off. She just started last Thursday and now she's having a day off, sigh.

Anyway, I'll have so many things to finish before the day ends. They both online and offline tasks. I hope I can finish them all before the deadline. Good luck to me :D

Perfect wedding venue?

The white-sand beaches of Riviera Maya are not only great for family vacation but for destination weddings as well. Since a lot of couples nowadays are choosing beach weddings, the beaches on the Mexican Riviera Maya are just perfect for weddings and honeymoon destination. If only I’ll be wed again, I’ll consider this venue since it does not only has the perfect spot for a beach wedding, it also has luxurious hotels. Whether ceremony, reception, or honeymoon I think the place is perfect for all. Plus, the hotels serve gourmet food that all wedding couples and visitors will definitely love. So if you’re dreaming and planning for a perfect wedding, consider Riviera Maya, it’s one of the perfect wedding destinations for romantic couples like you :)

A Hundred Fold in Return

I’m thankful that our company really cares for their employees. Last week, some of my office mates even came to our house to deliver initial relief goods as well as everyone who were affected buy the flood. I’m blessed that I belong to a company that cares for their staffs. I’ve also heard that there are some big companies who also extended big help to their effected employees. They didn’t just give relief goods but they even housed them in a hotel to give them shelter. That was so generous.

News about the devastating calamity also reach my friend abroad. She said that if it will happen to their place their company will definitely do the same. They will probably book new orleans hotel reservations to help some people who lost their homes find shelter in a comfortable hotel.

Times such as this is a time of caring, understanding and helping those who suffered and those who really extended their help will definitely received something in return. Maybe not from the people they’ve helped out but by the One who knows and sees the heart of the real giver. He will give back a hundred fold.

It's a sunny new day!

The sun is up today...this morning I was greeted with a bright sunny morning. There were still traces of calamity in our street but I'm so thankful that the storm after Ondoy did not affect us. Last Friday I was really praying hard that typhoon Pepeng won't hit us like the previous typhoon and the Lord was so merciful..He answered our prayers.

Our house is still a mess we haven't finish clearing and cleaning up yet...there's so much to do. But I already went to work today. Life goes on, right?

Our city is still recovering and the effort of our city government to boost the people's morale has been very helpful.. all over the city there where posters that bears these encouraging words: "Bangon Marikina, Kaya Natin 'To!".. indeed we can. We hope we can. The city government hopes that at least 90% we'll be back to normal at 3 weeks time. I'll help pray for that.

Oh, by the way...I'm already 18 week's pregnant... my preggy updates are all posted on my other blog.

Happy sunny Monday everyone!

Blessings

I’m glad we already have our supply of electricity back though our PLDT line has no service yet. I need to call a certain company but I don’t have their number. Our yellow pages got soaked as well. Good thing I was able to set up our computer (which we’re able to saved from the flood) and I have my smartbro on hand. I was able to checked a free directory online. The internet is such a big big help.

Also yesterday I was able to get a new SIM card with my old number from smart wireless center though I don’t have the proof of ownership with me. The SIM card and the pertinent papers got lost in the flood as well. But since that number is so important to me I did all I can to have it back. Thank God some people in the wireless center understood my situation and gave me a new SIM.

I count all these as blessings…the Lord is good!

Thankful Thursday: Still

The typhoon and the flash flood left our city devastated. The recent turn of events in our place was really a shock to everyone. During those times I thought it was our end but I was reminded of the song Still (from Hillsong)...with a line that goes,
"....When the oceans rise and thunders roar,
I will soar with you above the storm
Father you are king over the flood,
I will be still and know you are God..."

Indeed in my heart I know that I need not be scared, I need not worry cause God is amidst all these. And I am so thankful that the Lord did not leave us. He was our strength during times of crisis. He gave us shelter, He comforted us and above all He kept us safe. Some of our things were ruined by the flood but the most important is that our lives were spared. Thank you God...
