Muni-muni

I promised my self...

... that I'll limit my online time during weekends so I can be more productive and have more time with my daughter. So this weekend I was offline. :D. My sister borrowed my broadband kit also that's why I was not able to check emails nor checked the sites I visit regularly. May email p naman sakin ang ss but I was not able to create the post. Well ... sayang din but that's just one lang naman. The good thing was I'm able to bond with my Jaden.

Kanina, we went to SM Marikina with my mother and my sister and niece. Treat ko :D. I bought Jaden a few pairs of clips and headbands, a nice t-shirt, two pairs of spoon and fork, and plastic drinking cups with straws. I also bought a shirt for my self. I guess pag mommy ka na talaga, you will buy less for yourself and more for your baby.

We ate at French Baker after shopping. We had fun.

Do you have kids? Yes, a daughter.

How old are they? 28 months.

What do you think is the ideal age for the kids to be sent to school? Normally kids start going to pre-school at the age of five. For me, it can be as early as four as long as the child already shows interest.

Would you consider sending your 3-year-old toddler to school? Of course.

Explain your reasons : My daughter even attended a play/music school at the age of 2 and I think it helped in her social development. As long as it's a play school it's okay for me. I believe children at 3 still needs to have some fun so serious classroom type school is a no-no yet for her.

I'd like to hear your answers, Lilet, Kitts and Toni. :)

Happy!

I was on a slight hiatus. I attended a two-day sales training seminar yesterday and today. I was informed that I'm a participant just the morning of the first day, ( gosh! ) The message was sent at 6:30am unfortunately, my phone's message in box was already full and I deleted some messages to give way for new ones when I was already getting a ride to the office. So the message came in late.

Anyway, since I was in a seminar yesterday I was not able to check my emails or go online. (When you're an everyday internet user, it's an incomplete feeling missing just a day, right?) After the training I was still unable to do my online tasks since I need to attend our worship rehearsal. Our first day session ended at 5:30pm and since it's raining (really really hard!) I got caught up in traffic. I came late to the rehearsal. I was able to finally go online at already 11pm. and decided to extend a little bit to see if I can get some opps....and I was blessed! Though I already slept at past 2am to finish all the tasks, I was happy. I had no regrets at all, even if I only had 4 hours of sleep and still a training to attend to the next day. :D

Now I know the feeling Milette, hahaha!!

True enough, a true friend is one who can lay down his life for their friends. Someone that is to treasure forever...

She needs my attention

I realized this past few days that being a working mom and a mommy blogger can really get all my attention away from being a "real" mommy. I feel guilty last Saturday while I was busy on my PC that I did not give enough attention to my daughter. Here’s what happened:

We woke up late, 9:30am na. While the nanny was doing the laundry, I opted to prepare breakfast. The little lady on the other hand was watching Dora DVD. After breakfast, and not feeling the groove to clean the house, I bathed my daughter then turned on my PC and started surfing while the little lady tuned in to Dora. I then got busy surfing….but though my face was glued on the monitor, I could see the little lady walked here and there. And I could hear her mumbled and grumbled while playing all by her self. Then I heard a crash. She already banged her toy. Of course, I was surprised, I went to see what happened. I looked at her {nakasimangot na face} and asked her why she did that to her toy. She quickly hugged me and said “mommy, let’s play”. I was stoked. I realized, it’s Saturday, my only free day to bond with her but there I was, busying my self in front of the PC. So I immediately closed my browser and turned off the computer and gave her my full attention.

We played. Doodled. Colored. Sang. And laughed together.

Time spent with her is more precious than paid reviews. :)

*That is the reason why I was quiet on plurkville :D*

Manic Monday #135

Pick out the most important item you have in your purse/wallet and tell me why it's important to you.

~My ATM card. Sure I can always withdraw over the counter but with my ATM I don't have to go to the bank aside from that it contain all my incoming funds so it's hard to lose especially if the replacement procedure takes time.

What would you take from your house if you knew it would be flooded tomorrow?
~All our legal docs (birth cert. marriage contract, etc.)

If you were stuck in a room for an hour with a chalk board, what would you draw on it?
~I love to doodle and draw. Maybe I'll draw my name in different fonts and colors (I hope there are available colored chalks, hahaha!) and perhaps draw a serene beach picture.

I wanted to drive.

The problem is that I cannot used the jeep yet. There's a slight problem on the radiator. I already asked my brother -in-law who's taking care of it to have it checked by a mechanic to fix it asap. I can't wait to drive. I wanted to surprise hubby when he returns so I really need to practice what I've learned. I can only imagine his reaction when he sees me drive. Aside from that the reason why I really wanted to learn driving because the house that we're able to acquire is quite far from our present home. On my calculation, before hubby returns we'll be able to transfer already so I will be the one driving the car for the meantime. What I like with that village is that the houses we're designed with carports so car park won't be our problem anymore.

I hope the jeep will be fixed as soon as possible.

Colorstrology

This is interesting :) thanks to Jannese for giving the link.

Here's what the colorstrology said about my birthday:

July 20: THERE is something about you that is special. When people are in your presence, you inspire them to be more that they think they can be. You have a quality in your make up that needs to continually needs to grow and evolve, or you begin to feel disconnected from your adventurous spirit. Your personal color resonates with the gentle and peaceful side of your nature. Wearing, meditating or surrounding yourself with Butterfly helps you enjoy every moment in each stage of life that you are experiencing.

How are you?

As you can see, my blog is saturated with memes and tags these days. I haven’t posted any updates about me or my baby for quite some time. And my last post was last Monday. How am I? I was just busy and pre-occupied physically, emotionally and mentally.

…busy with EC dropping. I got addicted to it because of the EC toolbar which helped me drop my card a lot easier. And since I got two blogs, I need to drop 600 cards per day. So when I’m about to start a post, my hands are already tired {dropping cards}.

…busy PLURKING {another addiction}. Since all my mommy blogger friends are there, I can’t help but share with their discussions. Of course, I am having so much fun chatting with them not to mention that plurking helps with regards to getting news and other updates on our blogging “rakets”.

The more serious matters…

…I'm torn between quitting my job to join hubby in Riyadh {he recommended me to a company and they already processing my papers, though I’m really not sure if I’d go} and staying here since I have a lot of things to do here. Actually I’ve got good reasons to stay here though I really want to resign from work since last year. The main thing is, we’re still processing our housing loan and our house will be constructed by end of this year, if I’ll go what will happen, right? And two, I’m not sure if the company will allow me to bring my daughter. I don’t want to leave her. Period.

…I was emotionally down. I was not “performing” well with regards to my church ministry. I don’t know why but it seems that we are being graded {like the scholars of PDA, hehehe!} whenever we sing in front of the congregation, especially worship leaders like me. I know I am not a good singer. I guess my voice and “performance” in leading are not “good enough” for them so they let me “rest” for a while. I was not given a schedule for next month. The good side is, I can rest. I’ve been singing every Sunday for two consecutive months so I felt drained and tired. The down side, after learning about the schedule it brought negative impact on me. Honestly, I am really disappointed. Have you been in a situation where you accepted and agreed with enthusiasm to sing or do something for a special event only to spin into depression afterward because you felt you were not so great? That’s what I felt that time. I know you don’t understand what I’m talking about here. But the good thing is, I was able to buy a book by Darlene Zschech, “Extravagant Worship” last week. Been reading it since the day I bought it and it helped ease my disappointments. I guess I feel much better now.

So that’s it. If you’ll asked how I am doing, I’m okay :D. I hope though that I can post more personal updates here aside from tags and memes. Happy weekend everyone!

If you need a hand, I'm here...

Thanks to Vannie for giving this sweet poem/award :)

all throughout the season.
We need friends to comfort us when we are sad,
and to have fun with us when we are glad.
We need friends to give us good advice,
We need someone we can count on,

We need friends to remember us

Manic Monday #134

What's worse, physical or mental cheating? Why?
~Mental cheating. Women got instincts and I believe because of that, they will or they can feel it if they are being cheated. And it hurts so much if you know that you're being betrayed or cheated but your husband or partner don't admit it to you or tell it right to your face so you'll be left mentally tortured :)

Do you think men and women can be just friends? Why or why not?
~ sure they can, and I've proven it. When I was in high school I had lots of friends who belong to the opposite sex and there's even this particular guy friend I've got crush on, who turned to be my male best friend until now.

How do you feel about dating co-workers?
~I think it would be uncomfortable for me.

Defensive Driving

I always hear this from our company drivers and from our QMD personnel. I didn't understand this full well until I started my driving lesson. What is defensive driving?

Driving involves risk-the chance of injuries to your self, to others or causing damages to vehicles and properties. The first important step towards driving is realizing that the risk of being involve in an accident is real--much more real than you think. As drivers, you should always keep in mind that driving is something we cannot rush into. This is when defensive driving enters. It is understanding that risk is always present for a driver no matter how confident we may feel behind the wheel or how well we've mastered the basic of driving { neither how reliable our car insurance provider is} The risk is always present. But there are actions we can take to maximize control over driving situations and minimize risks.

Defensive driving means assessing the risk and doing all you can to reduce or control it. Here are some ways to do that:

  1. 1. Keep your car in top condition. The better the condition of your car, the more control you have when you drive.
  2. Anticipate the actions of others. Drivers and pedestrians often act without thinking or communicating, you must learn to search for clues.
  3. Take steps to protect yourself and others. Wear seat belts and turn your headlights on
  4. Drive only when in sound physical and mental condition. To drive safely you need to be 100% alert behind the wheel
  5. Make a conscious effort to develop your skill. Working to improve your driving habits and abilities will help to protect yourself and others.

A Shelf Full of Awards

Ms. Architect generously gave this shelf full of awards to some of her friends and I am blessed to received this from her. Thank you so much! :)

Chopsuey

Last night, I was preparing for dinner when suddenly my little lady went towards me and started digging her little hands into the basin filled with baguio beans and started cutting the veggie with her hands. She’s now helping mum in the kitchen and I’ll just let her so she‘ll get the passion for cooking. Like mommy :D

***
I gave her kisses for “pasalubong” last night and she shouted “Wow!!! Mommy, sholeyt!”

Sholeyt = chocolate...You can only get that from a toddler’s vocabulary :D

***
Busy plurking…yes…that’s a new addiction, hahaha! That’s why I can’t think of something to write about condo hotel. Hirap mag isip if you're multi-tasking :D

Friendship Reward

Thanks for this Mye..:)

They all are charmed with the blogs, where in the majority of its aims are to show the marvels and to do friendship; there are persons who are not interested when we give them a prize and then they help to cut these bows; do we want that they are cut or that they propagate? Then let's try to give more attention to them! So with this prize we must deliver it to 8 bloggers that in turn must make the same thing and put this text.

I'm now giving this to eight of my blog friends...for continuously showing and making me feel that I'm welcome to the blogosphere and for always always there, sharing their thoughts and always ready to help. Kudos to the friendship...Milette, Kitts, Toni, Lilet, Eds, Nice, Nette, and Vannie

"To know someone here or there with whom you can feel there is understanding in spite of distances or thoughts expressed ~ That can make life a garden."

♫ Dreaming... ♫

♫…I must be dreaming… ♫♫

Humming the song while writing this...Yes, I was just dreaming last night. Dreaming about my husband. Dreaming that we’re together enjoying a romantic European cruise. {I just wish we can really enjoy one of those cruises}

Oh, I am really missing him so much...specially talking to him face to face in such a time like this. Called him at 6am this morning {as per our time difference, I'm 5 hours advance} just to say good morning. Our daughter was up early so she was able to talk to her dad as well.

*sigh* ....nine months more....

Video Library Project

Our church is setting up a video library in Marikina. It’s one of our ways to help students and residents of our city by providing them easy access to educational videos. It’s like our own version of CSR (corporate social responsibility) projects. We just need to find a good company who provides closed captioning and subtitling services for some of the videos we gathered. I can already see that this will be a beneficial project. I’m looking forward to its success.

To Dos

It’s a rainy Wednesday. The boss already left but I’m still busy because:

  • I need to do my “assignments”.
  • Plurk and invite some friends to join ^_^
  • Construct and print an Affidavit of Loss
  • Study my songs for tonight’s midweek service.
  • I have to follow up updates on several work related tasks
  • Download and fill-up application for driver’s license from LTO website
  • Download some digiscrap stuffs and freebies. {by the way, I saw this cute Halloween invitations digiscrap freebie which I’d like to grab later.}
I think I can finish these all today.

Marriage Tips

I read this from a Christian Marriage site, and thought of sharing this to all my married friends and those planning to settle down.

Tips for A Healthy Marriage:
  1. Keep God FIRST!
  2. Pray Together!
  3. Respect and honor each other!
  4. Encourage each other to grow together!
  5. Read the Bible together as much as possible!
  6. Be swift to hear & slow to speak!
  7. Make time to communicate with each other!
  8. Protect and honor your marriage vows!
  9. Do not let others come between your marriage!
  10. Have a "Mission Statement" for your Marriage & Family!
  11. Thank God everyday for your Mate & the Life you have together!
  12. Understand that "love" is a choice, not a feeling!(You must choose everyday to Love your mate)
And a poem from an unknown author:

Love is a look, a smile, brief as an instant,
long as eternity, a spark engendered by a
reaching out, a touch of hands, an intuition
that knows how to heal a hurt, and how to build a world.

For love's sake only, cherishing each other,
lovers move freely within a circle, that
defines their being, shapes what they become,
and thus they are fulfilled each in the other.

When love speaks in feeling,
love responds in instant recognition,
in embrace and letting go, always in the certainty of renewal.
Shared sorrows, disappointments only serve to strengthen love.

Let this be a pledge of love's safekeeping,
that in sleep, lovers dream each other's self,
and when they wake in the morning,
some new insight, some lovely memory of the other,
warms and draws and holds them closer together.
So love begins in longing,
Love is transformed into belonging.

Stud or screw? Whatever...

I was riding a van yesterday on my way home and I can’t help but get distracted with the man beside me. I don’t know but I get really irritated with person wearing body jewelry especially if it’s placed on delicate parts of the body. I was looking at him and when I heard him talk, I can’t help but think, isn’t he irritated with that thing inside his mouth? Maybe if it’s a nose ring, I might consider, but a tongue stud?? Please…. Who’s the person behind this idea anyway?

I am actually...

...driving! Yes!

These pictures were taken by my sister who was with me on my second day of lesson. I was driving an Innova here.

Di naman ako masyadong na excite no? Hehehe...I am just happy that finally, I've accomplished one of my goals.

Student Driver: Last Day

Last day of my driving lesson was last Saturday. I was put on an early schedule, 7am to 9am but because I was not able to sleep well, I woke up late so I was late for my class too. One hour! {shucks!}

I was just disappointed because I paid for a two-hour lesson. But anyway, that's my fault so that's okay.

My instructor is patiently waiting for me when I arrived. He immediately ushered me to the car and off we went driving. After my one-hour lesson, he taught me some basics on auto mechanic, engine and car parts and how to check the car's condition before driving. I must admit, that was the first time I saw a car steering rack, radiator and other parts, which as per my instructor the important things I have to learn on a car.

My driving lesson ends there but it was a wonderful experience. I realized, driving is a no brainer, but is a responsibility as well. As their handbook quotes, risk is always present for a driver no matter how confident he or she may feel behind the wheel.
Now, my next step is to practice more so I won't forget my lesson and become a more confident, defensive driver.

Blessings

My day started pretty good.

I went to our office in Quezon City to assist to the new employee orientation and also pick up the office supplies I requested from our purchasing department. I had no time to check the internet when I was there since I had no access.

When I got here in my office, I immediately checked my emails and logged on my accounts. And guess what? I was so surprised and happy on what I saw. The sheriff’s really generous today. Now I’ll be busy for a blog marathon. :)
