Huh-humm...

...I was trying to think of something to write about farmhouse sinks but my dear little lady is trying to interrupt me. She maybe wants mommy's attention that's why she's doing all she can to succeed. I got it. I can't stay long on my PC as long as she's awake so I'll better think later. Well, I'm guilty of not having enough time with her today since I need to attend my driving lesson after church service. Maybe that's why...

..how can you resist this cuteness?!? lol.

{She's 35 inches tall now! :)}

Student Driver: Day Three

Third day of driving lesson. I'm back to driving a small car. And just like yesterday, I had a pleasant experience. Lessons are getting tougher though. The instructor thought me about maneuvering, 3 points and 2 points turning, meaning the K-turn, the Y-turn, and the U-turn. Done with ease, haha! I was also able to learn hanging but I admit I still need more practice on this. I counted my engine stopped several times while doing the trick, tsk tsk. Buti na lang Mr. Instructor is sooo pasensiyoso :).

So, I'll carry on. My goal is to drive alone so I have to learn everything I can. One more lesson next week. :)

High School

I was checking friendster when I came across some familiar faces...my high school friends and batch mates...brings high school memories.

High school...I think it's the most exciting stage of my life. Back then, life is simple. I only think about getting good grades and the tough competition among the Top Ten students in class. I only think about crushes and puppy love, C.A.T. class, P.E, and pimples! (yaiks! good thing I've never been in the stage of using treatments for acne). Now, my life has change..but I'm happy.

Anyway, I never thought I will be able to see them again--my dear classmates. Thanks to the wonders of the internet. I hope there will be a chance for all of us to meet...catch up on each others lives perhaps...I miss them.

Shoes

Shoes? I love them. I think I have more than enough pairs and still counting. But my collection only includes pumps, flats, sandals, and rubber shoes. I haven't tried wearing clogs like a Croc or a Dansko maybe because I project a girly image. I rarely use my rubber shoes as well. As of these days, I love wearing flats, ballerina shoes types even if I'm petite.

Hmmm....this topic made me think of cleaning up my shoe cabinet again to give out those pairs I seldom use.

My Little Helper

She saw her dried clothes kanina. Wanting to help mommy, she sat down and tried to fold them one by one while humming. I was able to capture it on video but the file is quite large so I'll give you some snap shots instead.

I was laughing while reviewing the pics and vid. And here's her finished product:

Helpful and industrious noh? Di nga lang pulido ang trabaho, hehehe :D

Student Driver: Day Two

W---o----w!!! I just had my second session a while ago, and I'm beginning to like driving now :).

Today, I had two hours session and I drove an Innova. Quite big for me but I was able to handle it with ease. I drove along Marikina and Quezon City. The roads in Mrikina are a bit congested which is good because I was able to practice my breaks and clutch so well. Also, unlike the first, my instructor this time is more courteous and knows where to go.

I feel accomplished as I've learned backing, crossing on intersections, changing lanes, and turning to left and right.

Whew! I can't believe I'm really driving!

I'm not nervous now...can't wait for tomorrow's session.

Jaden Updates

Thanks Kitts for reminding me. It's been a while....

On the 30th, she will be 27 months. She’s gradually becoming a big girl. I was looking into her baby albums and I am just so surprised how she’d grown fast. She’s beginning to become a real person :D Nakakabasag…nagkakalat…nakakaubos ng patience…pero nakaka tuwa at nakakawala pa rin ng pagod.

Here are some updates on her that I want to chronicle.

  1. Her prayers already have content. She has a different prayer when we go to bed and before meal time. It will be a roll call of names before going to sleep. Before meal time naman, she’ll thank the Lord for the rice and “ulam”.
  2. She will ask her nanny to call me in the office when she wants to talk to me. Minsan I will be surprised when my phone rings at sya yung nasa kabilang linya. She’ll tell me what she’s doing, that she’s eating already or has taken her bath.
  3. She knows it when it’s her daddy that I’m talking to on the phone. She’ll sit besides me and listen and will ask me to give the phone to her. She’ll tell me “U-ap daddy, mommy…”
  4. She knows how to open the ref to get her chuckie. If she want another bottle of milk, she’ll tell me by saying, “One more dede, mommy”
  5. She knows how to say “No” and “ayaw” when she doesn’t want something.
  6. She knows that I am going somewhere when she sees me changing clothes. And she’ll ask this question: “Mommy, ayish na tayo? Come on mommy, ayish na tayo” kala niya kasama siya lagi. :D
  7. She’ll drag me to the dinner table when she sees her yaya setting the table. Kahit di pa tapos mag prepare si yaya, she’ll drag me and will say, “Eat na tayo...”
  8. She interchanges “Ako”and “ikaw”. Sometimes, she’ll say ikaw but really she’s referring to her self.
  9. She can easily answer with “opo” on her statements.
  10. She knows it when I’m angry. She knows how to say “sorry po mommy” or “sorry po yaya”. She also always say "Thank you" when she is given something. And she know how to say "excuse me po".
  11. She will say I love you to me with hugs and kisses pa.
  12. She’s trying to be independent. Sometimes, she doesn’t want me to hold her when going down the chair or climbing up (she can climb up the table or chair on her own). She also doesn’t want her yaya to hold her when she’s trying to go up on stairs
  13. She can sing Bahay Kubo, Ako ay May Lobo, Tong Tong Pakitong-kitong, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Tomorrow, Pen pen De Sarapen in complete lyrics (bulol nga lang). She loves singing and she sings to her daddy over the phone. She also sings to some of her favorite commercials on TV. She loves the commercial of Knorr’s “Makulay ang Buhay”I think she'll be like her mom.
  14. She’s becoming pickier with the food she eats. If she don’t want the food she’ll put it in her mouth but she’ll spew it out after a while. Napa face the wall ko siya one time because of this. I know children couldn’t stand long hours standing, facing a wall. Pero yun kasi ang madaling way to discipline. But the mother in me, di ko rin pinatagal. I couldn’t stand seeing her looking at me na nagpapaawa. I talked to her and told her that what she did was not good. She said sorry and embraced me so tight. Napagalitan pa ako ng husband ko dahil dun. Di ko daw dapat pinarurusahan ang bata. But this is one thing I know na di naman mabigat na way to discipline di ba? After I did that to her, natakot na siya gawin ulit ^_^.
There are still some more but for now ito na lang muna.

    Million Dollar Friend

Milette include me on her list for this award. She wrote:

Mhay, we share a lot of common things together since her daughter and mine have the same age. Also we are struggling to keep our lives normal inspite the fact that our husbands are far away from home.
I'm thankful for this sis. I am also glad to have known and met a friend in you. :)

Now I am giving this to :

Kitts - we also have things in common. I love reading her blog on how she raises her daughter as well. I learn some things just by reading her blog.

    Lilet
    - She's an officemate and a friend. We seem to be at the same "wavelength".

    Vannie
    - I learn a lot just by reading her blogs. I consider and treasure her as one of my blog friends.

    Toni
    - She's also an officemate and friend to me. I was able to learn about w@w and n@w and BUB and how to make money blogging through her :D.

    Talking about home

I was checking a home furniture site recently. Their sample designs were amazing and enticing. With the things I saw, it made me think about the picture of our would-be house. It’s really good to imagine. The paints, the designs, those things…I’m already excited.

If everything went well with our HDMF application, we’ll have the house by March next year. I will then have the opportunity to decorate and design it according to my taste. It’s pretty small (maybe there's no need for a home theater lighting) but at least it will be a house we can call our own.

In "other" Words: A Noble Task

Parenting is a noble task and a responsibility. There’s a book I’ve read that says, what our children become as adults and individuals are results of our parenting. Parenting is investing in helping our child LEAVE us. As I ponder on this, I felt sad but it’s the truth. We are chosen by God to be the parents of our children because He believes that we can do that noble task. Being a parent is one great opportunity to raise an individual God designed him or her to be. Our children will not forever be dependent on us, they will grow and will have to be responsible for themselves. We will not forever hold their hands to feed them or guide them. Our only reward as parents is when we release them from our hands, when we let them go at the right time to journey on their own lives, and we will see that they are journeying on the path God designed for them because we were able to prepare them.

How sad that others got married without the desire to become parents. It’s also breaks my heart to hear stories of women longing to have a child of their own but not fortunate to have one. As for me, I’m thankful that God blessed me with a daughter. I know that she is a responsibility but I see it a wondrous taks and I humbly and gladly taking it for I know that God will be there. He will be my constant companion in raising my daughter to what God wants her to be.

    “Dear Lord,
I do not ask that Thou shouldst give me
    some high work of thine,
    some noble calling
    or some wondrous task.
Give me a little hand to hold in mine.”

    Manic Monday #13

If you could take more control of one aspect of your life, what would it be?
Wow, tough question...my work and paycheck maybe? hehe! Kidding aside, I want to take more control of my career, wishing to have more time for my self and my family.

If you were to name the difference between the male soul and the female soul, what would it be?
Hmmm..questions are getting tougher?!?maybe female: aims for security, male: aims for control? I don't really know :D

If you had to admit the most selfish thing you do on a regular basis, what would you say it is?
    Blogging time? :D

    Student Driver: Day One

So, yesterday I had my first driving session. Woke up early coz my class was sched at 8am. I asked for a PM sched but there are no more available slot so I got an AM sched instead. Good thing my daughter was still sleeping soundly when I left.

So, I arrived at the driving school on time. My instructor was already there. After filling and signing up some documents my instructor ushered me to the car (whew!). I felt a little bit nervous. It will be my second time to sit on the driver’s seat. The last time was 10 years ago and I cannot remember driving since then. He did a pre-driving orientation first, medyo nakakalito and I felt conscious kasi si Mr. Instructor e nagpapa-cute pa (shucks and kaasar) tumigil lang when I told him that I’m married.

I was able to manage “driving”. From starting the engine, driving on the main road, stopping, using the break and steering wheel (gear). Medyo nalilito pa ng konte on the proper use of the pedals but my instructor said my first session was satisfactory. :D Next session will be two hours na on Saturday. I am excited already.

Haay…sana lang all the instructor’s effort will pay off…hehehe. But I know I’ll learn naman eh I just hope I’ll learn fast and won’t forget.

    Yesterday was a success

Yesterday was a productive day for me. I was able to accomplished everything on my To Do list.

    1. I was able to enroll at Smart Driving School (Finally!!) My class will start on Saturday. I'm already excited and nervous. Hubby didn't know that I enrolled. I want to surprise him kasi. And he need not worry because my enrollment fee came from my own earning (blog moolah!). So all the best for me! :D

    2. I'm also able to go to HDMF office in Buendia (Justine Bldg. for POP) and processed hubby's PoP membership and housing loan application. It was a breeze. Special treatment siguro talaga pag OFWs. Numbers are called one after another and members were assisted in less than 20 minutes! I paid for his 24 months contribution to avail the housing loan equivalent to Php 4,800.00. Was able to recieved hubby's ID immediately. I was done at 11:30am.

Since I need to attend the HL Seminar, I just took my lunch to a nearby Inasal Resto then went to the office again. What's good was, when the speaker entertained questions before she started the discussion I was able to asked if I still need to attend. I want to verify since I attended already a seminar before under my name. But now that our loan will be named after hubby, our developer said that I still have to attend for him. I was relieved when she said that I don't have to attend anymore and just go straight to 5th floor for the approval of my MSVS. Three hours din kasi yun, and I believe same topic din naman with the seminar I attended before, sayang ang time ko. So off I went to the 5th floor and picked a number. Wala pang 5 minutes my number was called. I gave my docs and waited. And again in less than 15 minutes I'm done. After recieving my approved MSVS, I immediately went to our developer's office and submitted all docs. Finally, all requirements were submitted. All I have to do now is to complete paying the DP .

    3. Was able to also checked with my bank regarding the descrepancy issues I raised before. pano ba naman they deducted bank charges on my account which I think was unfair. Unfortunately, there's still no update if my request will be approved. Kakainis talaga ang customer service ng bank na yun. Nakakagigil na! Hmpf.

    4. And finally, was able to finished doing the scrapbook of my daughter's 2nd year. A collection of her photos from her 13th to 24th month. I was able to finished it with all her pangungulit at panggugulo :D.

Next week will be another long week end. Sarap! :D

    Thankful and Planning

I was not able to post my entry for the Thankful Thursday last week, I was really busy that I had no time to blog for some other things other than tags. I only finished doing the tags because I know I had to do them. Anyways, last week was really a wonderful week.

    1. I'm thankful that finally I already recieved my refund from my previous developer. I didn't expect that the amount is higher that what I'm thinking, and I am so thankful...really.
    2. Hubby's papers after 2 weeks of waiting finally came. These are the things I need so I can start processing his PoP membership from HDMF. I was worried that It won't reach me since I don't really trust snailmail that much, coz the last time I sent him a letter it didn't reach him. I thankful that God protected the mail.
    3. I'm thankful for the joy my daughter brings everyday....I have been so busy last week but she keeps me sane and happy :)
    4. I'm thankful for all the blessings I've recieved. I was thankful also for guiding me during a challenging experienced I had last Monday. ;)

    *******

Monday is a holiday so that means bonding time with my toddler. I'm also planning to visit a nearby driving school to inquire about a class. Finally, I'm enrolling...my student permit is expiring next month, so I really have to enroll now.

And if I had extra time in the afternoon, I'll visit a mall sale..I need to check for a baby stroller for my niece. It doesn't have to be a Bugaboo stroller but one that will be comfortable and of course affordable.

And on Tuesday, I'll be taking a leave to finally process our housing loan application. I had to process hubby's PoP application and pay membership fee and attend the seminar. I just hope that it will be easy.

    *******

By the way, Jaden was now a member of JKC (Jolibee Kids Club). We went to the mall yesterday and ate at Jolibee. While eating, a crew approached me about JKC and I refused. A little later another crew approaced me and I again refused. The third time, I decided to just fill up the form since the membership is just P50. There will be a lot of activities in line from August to October for the kids but I don't think we can attend all. But hmmm...we'll see.

    Jaden Pray...

It was the first time I heard my daughter pray with content. It was the other night when I asked her to pray before she sleep. And I was surprised to hear her say these:

Jaden: " Lord, O...Jesus...bless mommy, en dadi, en tita, en tito, en yaya, bless i nanay, en tatay, and nicole, en ate AC, en en, Lord, O, Jesus, Amen!"

I was just listening to her because she doesn't want me to say anything...Whenever I followed her she'll said (with her finger on her lips)...." ssshhhh, mommy sssshhh, Jaden pray...."

Eversince we're young, my mom taught us household chores so I know that I can live even without a nanny or helper. I've started doing the laundry when I was in grade 5 (handwashing lang kami before because we don't have machine)...and that's one thing I don't like doing plus ironing clothes. Paglutuin mo na lng ako :D hehe

Jaden is 2 weeks early. Her due date is 2nd week of June but she came on the 30th of May.
    5. How long in labor?
Didn't experience actual labor. I was still inside the mall with hubby when my OB told me I need to go to the hospital for a C-section since the baby is not doing OK as per my last ultrasound's result. Such a long story.
