Neigborhood Carpenter

It’s the rainy season once again so for most of the new house owners in our village it’s time to have a front yard cover. Our neighbor is already doing that. Having their front yard cover constructed they already have the roof and now the walls and gate are being constructed. I salute the old carpenter that our neighbor hired to do the job. He’s fast and works with quality. At first look you wouldn’t think that he can do the job and that he has complete tools down to c clamps but he does. You will be able to get that you’ve paid for with his work. Hope before June ends we will be able to construct our front yard as well and I’ll surely get manong as my carpenter.

The Thought of Transferring

Speaking of transfer, I am thinking what to do best once we’re there. Having to manage a home for almost seven years now, we’ve acquired a lot of things that now I keep on thinking how to pack them all and transfer to the new house. Even if I have kuat racks on my car, I know I cannot carry them and drive them all using the car alone and the cost of renting a big truck is something. So I’m leaving this for my husband to handle. I don’t want to stress myself so hard on finding solution for this since I am the one who already managed the refurbishing of the home, hehe.

Anticipating

Finally, the refurbishing of our new house as done and the transformation was done well. I love how it turned out, not exactly what I imagined it to be but it was still good. I just need to add some touch ups and maybe install white porch swings outside to complete the fresh ambiance. I’m already excited to transfer. We’re just waiting for the husband to come home and that would be next month. Hopefully, the transfer will be swift and a breeze.

Baby-Proofed Home

Having kids at home, especially a toddler, makes me a mom that is always on guard. The house should be baby-proofed and safe. So I arranged the house and furniture in a way that it won’t be an accident prone place. I already removed some fragile displays, removed tables that the little tot can climb up, put some table corner covers, and even installed plug and wire covers. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

My Dream Living Room

I love to have a house like this. It’s clean and warm and fresh and cozy. It’s indeed, a typical dream home :). It’s just hard to managed, lol! Having a house like this should be kept clean specially the carpet. And if you don’t have a nice vacuum cleaner, it would be very hard tidying up. You will need to get help from carpet cleaning raleigh specialists. But who cares right? If you have a house like this, it means you also have the money to pay for your cleaners, hehe. How I really wish, I’ll have my own house someday, this one is perfect!

Pendant Light Fixtures for a Warm, Cozy Home

I am always fascinated whenever I watch a lifestyle program or talk shows that feature celebrity houses. Aside from reading topics about home styling in magazines, it's more interesting watching it on TV. And what I love about it is because I'm learning a lot so that when the time comes that we will have to build our own house, I'll have enough ideas.

One of the things I learned about home styling is good lighting. A good lighting in a house makes it more relaxing and welcoming. A dull room will brighten up if there are good pendant light fixtures installed. I've seen quite a number of houses that has good lighting fixtures and I found out, that's good trick for a warm house ambiance. From living room to the kitchen, a house should have good lighting even to the comfort rooms. Sparkling ceiling fan lights are great in a living room or in the dining area. And of course, a mom likes me who loves to stay in the kitchen would love it if it has good kitchen light fixtures. Lighting is an essential part of house planning so I I know that we have to really invest on good lighting when we start building our own home.

Dream Home

Every family dreams to live in the comfort of their own home that is furnished and fully paid, right? I know that every one of us have our own dream house. And we want to have them at the right time. Like every one, I also have my own dream home, we almost have it but circumstances came that we end up still renting. And the house that we currently staying is not what I really wanted. It was not properly maintained by the owner so there are a lot of renovations to be done that have not been given attention. If only we can acquire this to be our own house, we will surely make this a place that is comfortable to live in like what I seen in an Atlanta home remodeling site I’ve seen. I personally don’t like the kitchen since it doesn’t have cabinets and cupboards. The laundry area is still a problem. If only we have extra budget, we can have a bathroom and kitchen remodeling done since we can reimburse the expenses. But as of this moment, we still can’t do that because we have a lot of things that are first in our priority list. This house is situated in a good community. I personally like the environment because it’s peaceful. We are praying that if the Lord will, we can acquire this house instead of getting a place in far places where most realty development company put up residential properties. We’re praying that someday the owner will think of selling this to us through HDMF. It would be the best! Then, we can make this our dream home.

On Wood & Iron Furniture

I’m quite meticulous when it comes to home furniture. I don’t want rustic furniture so I always check our iron furniture like bed frames and dinner chairs often. As much as I want to, I like wooden furniture because it looks classic and fresh but when we experienced flood last 2009, most of our wooden furniture got soaked and ruined by the flood so we thought that iron made furniture are better of us. Now we only need to check them often so that it doesn’t have tarnish of rust.

My Goal to Get an Organized and Improved House

I’ve been meaning to either buy some furniture in the house but I’m thinking if I’ll just have someone customized them for me. Honestly, I’m already irritated at how unorganized our things are. We really need to install a lot of cabinets to organized our things especially the kids’ toys and my book collection. The house also needs some improvements since it doesn’t have any built-in cabinets. Hopefully before the year ends, I can get all our things organized.

Well, I’ve already talked to the owner of the house for some home improvements that we badly need. He agreed that they will shoulder the cost of fixing the railings, improving the gate, fixing the ceilings and maybe installing some skylights and improving the flooring. My friend who just came from Riyadh gave me fireplace mantels that will really good on our floor if only we can get everything organized.

How I wish they will just sell this house to us so we can really do the things that we want. I want to have some additional rooms and maybe build a second floor so the ground floor will have room enough for the kitchen and the living room. Hay, it’s really one of my dream to have our own house someday.

Renovation

Home improvements are always exciting especially for me. I get to be excited because that means renovations, new furniture, and replacements of old, boring things inside the house. When we transferred to a new house last year, it was my first time to renovate a house. I was totally hands on since the owner of the house gave us all the rights to alter everything we want and since it’s refundable we did what needs to be done without worrying about budget. Good thing that we were able to get quality home construction supplies at bargain prices. We did alteration from door knobs to installing window screens to constructing a whole kitchen. My cousin said that in her place it’s the same, when they did some minor renovation in their rented place, they got the supplies from replacement window Denver, and just reimbursed the cost. Some people said it’s unfair for us since we are only tenants and will leave the house after a few years but we didn’t mind. What’s important is that we will be living in a house with personal touch.

For Lovers Or Families: Jersey City Apartments Await

New York City is one of the most romantic cities in the world. There's just something magical in the air when you visit here and take in the sights, sounds, and even the smells. Whether it's an evening stroll through Central Park or a night on Broadway, it's easy to see how you could fall in love in the city.

The city is also a great place for families. You could bring your little ones to the Central Park Zoo or go back in time and visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Head to FAO Schwartz for toys that even the biggest kid will enjoy and marvel at the bright lights in Times Square. Whether it's just the two or you or the entire gang, New York City is a fabulous place to be.

If you've put the Big Apple on your list of vacation spots, be sure to check out Jersey City apartments. Instead of a cramped, overpriced hotel room, you could be staying at a luxurious apartment just across the river from the Statue of Liberty. Not only will you be close to all that the city has to offer, you'll also have some of the most stunning views of the Manhattan skyline. Check out all that awaits here.

You could purchase a Jersey City apartment for yourself. Think about the possibilities. You could visit the city anytime you want, knowing that your own home-away-from home is waiting for you. Or you could rent the apartment out to others who have come to enjoy the excitement of NYC.

If purchasing isn't in the cards right now, check around to see if anyone is renting or subletting a Jersey City apartment. You'll love all the room you'll have to sprawl out and you simply cannot beat the views. See for yourself why these apartments are the place to be.

Have You Imagined Living on Motorhomes?

How convenient it would be if people will just live in motor homes instead of the houses that we live in these days. People can go wherever they want while inside their homes, how exciting! But I guess, it would be very chaotic. People will have not had permanent address so sending mails or packages will be a major problem. I guess motor homes are just really for those whose work demands it. I know some popular stars who own motor homes. I wonder if they’ve got motorhome insurance for their units. It’s a must to have one since motor homes is like a real home that may contain valuable properties inside. I’m not a start but I also want to have my own motor home someday.

How Bout A Home That You Can Take Anywhere You Want?

I first saw a motor home in one of the movies I watch when I was young. I didn’t know that we can also have these kinds of homes here. As I passed by Libis every day, I always see that particular bill board that features a Pinoy motor home. Well, this is great for those who don’t have permanent residence yet and needs some place to stay immediately. Also good for some actors and actresses who are so busy that they seldom go home, this could be their home extension. With this great inventions, getting a house now is easy as 123 and manufacturers or sellers of these motor homes gives motor home repairs so your home repairs and maintenance will never be problem. Hubby told me one time that this could be an alternative since we don’t have our own place yet. But I said that this kind of home will not be good for us, so no. We’re not going to buy one, lol!

Best Home Mortgage: Finding Your Rate

You have come to a decision: you need a new home to accommodate your new life. Your days have changed and you must find space. Tiny rooms and small corridors will no longer suffice. You need more. But you fear you cannot afford it. Your income is stable but not impressive enough for instant reward; your debt is minimal but still looms; and your expenses fluctuate with the months, demanding more and more. You feel any sort of purchase is beyond you. But, it doesn't have to be. You can create the best home mortgage for yourself. You simply need patience and an understanding of all things fiscal.

To begin, know precisely what your current worth is: detail your yearly income, credit scores, potential investments and debt. These numbers are essential. Without them, you will not be able to calculate what you can afford and what you should never attempt. Know yourself and your limitations. These will define your rates.

Also be certain that you learn the market. Determine the economy and its possible fates. Is it destined to falter or strengthen? Your predictions will prove invaluable, allowing you to create the best home mortgage for your future. You need to follow the trend and anticipate what you will be paying in the years to come.

Finally, you must decide which plan is best for you: a shorter term with higher interest or a longer progression with lower fees. Contemplate how long you intend to remain in your home. Which will best fit your needs? The difference is crucial in crafting a plan that will cost you the least amount of money (and the least amount of worry).

The best home mortgage is one that is tailored for you; but to find that requires an understanding of your present, your future and your desires. Let them each determine what you must do and what you can accomplish.

Yey!

I was able to hang the curtain in the living room last night...finally! My hand is itching to do this since last week but as as I've said here, I wasn't able to get the curtains from the boxes not until last night. My avidness finihed the work and I was satisfied that we finally have curtains :D. My next target is to finished setting up the Christmas tree and finished putting up the Christmas decors :), hopefully, I'll finished this on Saturday.

Weekend Mission: Clean Up and Organized!

It's almost two weeks now since we moved and until now, the house is still a mess. We don't have a helper yet so the work load of cleaning, clearing, arranging things and dusting are left to me and my husband to do. And since I'm at work 5 days a week, the workload is not yet done until now. We don't even have our Christmas decors yet as well since we still have to look for the decors in the storage room. Even the curtains are not yet hanged. Hubby already installed the hooks for the drapes yesterday so when I arrived from work, I'm excited to hang the curtains but got disppointed when I could not find them. They are still in one of the boxes in the storage room. Oh well, I think the coming saturday will be alloted for the continuation of our general cleaning and installing of window screens since dust is everywhere in the house! How I wish we had a central vacuum that will sucked them all! lol...

I admit I'm meticulous and a little OC when it comes to cleanliness and organization inside the house but now, I have to be patient and hopefully everything will be done before December.

We've settled down a bit.

I'm back..finally, I can blog :)

Last week was a busy week for all of us here in the house and the past few days has been an adjustment. We've already moved in the new house and so far so good. It's more spacious, we have more privacy and we have a front yard where the little girl can play.

The fast days was so tiring as well. Since we don't have a helper yet, I did all the chores. I did all the packing, unpacking, and rearranging of our things. i just made sure that I don't work too much since I'm also concerned with baby #2. Also this week is examination week for the little girl so I also review her every time I got home from work. So my schedule for the week is cook food for dinner, wash dishes, clean the little girl then review her lessons before she sleeps. I just hope that like last grading, she'll give us good exam results ;D.

As for the house, we still have a lot to arrange and repair. We need to install drape wires and hooks for the curtains (I haven't hung the curtains yet), apply for a telephone line with dsl and also apply for a cable TV. All these, we're doing one at time, and we're praying that we'll be able to finished everything before the year ends.

That's all for now. I'll be posting some pictures next time :)

Renovating.

We’ve already started renovating the new house. Yesterday, the painter was able to finish painting the rooms, ceiling and walls. One more coating and it will be done. Their next job will be installing some moldings for the ceiling, repainting the doors and installing the vinyl tiles and cabinets. After finishing all the works inside the house, they will be concentrating on the backyard and kitchen area. We’re also planning to repaint the front side of the house and install wall sconce to make it livelier.

We spent a lot for its renovation but hubby said that we need not think about all the expenses. We just have to think that we’ll stay here long to maximize the house and all the expenses. After all, the owner told us to have this house as long as we want. I can’t wait to finally see the newly renovated house this Saturday. Hopefully the workers will be able to finish all the works before week end.

Benefits of Being insured.

With what happened in one unit in Parc Royale, I realized the importance of home insurance. The recent fire left nothing but ashes in that condo unit and I pity the owner. But I guess that property was properly insured. There are lots of benefits of getting our homes insured so that in case of accidents like this, we can be assured that we can still get something to help us start a new.

We are presently still living in our rented house but soon we hope we can already transfer to our new house which we’re able to acquire through Pag-ibig and thank God HDMF has policy on home insurance.

Hmmm.....

...I love the scent of the candle and the oil that we bought last week at SM. Hubby said he was also using an oil burner and scented candle in his room back in Riyadh. I didn’t know that he likes scented candles too. I’ve been meaning to buy this before but thought that it will just be a waste of money. Now we’re enjoying a refreshing scent inside our living room and bedroom.
