My TRX Journey

I was never a gym buff. I am not very fond going to a gym because I hate exercising with other people. I hate the smell of sweat. I hate gym equipment and I hate  those big heavy  steels. But when I learned about TRX (Total Body Resistance Exercise), that's when my fitness journey began.

I suffered from frozen shoulders (both of  them) for a very long time when I had an accident in 2014. I had physical therapy for 7 months but my shoulders didn't get back to it's normal function. This condition made me hate exercising even more because my shoulders does not permit me to make movements that involves them. But a friend introduce me to TRX and told me that maybe, my shoulders will get better with this kind of workout.  I was hesitant at first because my doctor warned me that my shoulders will get worst if I do activities that will put too much pressure on it. But, I tried.

My trial day, May 2018
I booked my first trial in May 2018. Then I joined the workout. I liked it. TRX is a different kind of workout. It uses your body weight as your exercise tool unlike traditional gym. What I like about it is that it fixes your posture, it helps you breathe properly and it makes you stronger. It changed my view on fitness. It made me realized that being fit is not about having a lean, skinny body but being strong and feeling healthy inside. So,  I  enrolled my first 10 session-workout, which was then followed by more sessions.

I met new friends. I met people who's not just into getting that dream body but being healthy as their goal.

With TRX on my routine, I feel so much better. I feel confident with my body. I did not lose so much weight but I look fitter, healthier and better. Friends are telling me about the changes they see in me. So I was very motivated to do my TRX every week after getting positive results.

Sadly, after seven months of my religious routine the gym where I do my TRX is now closing and we are temporarily without a place to work out on so everyone is disheartened.  Even so, I'm seeing this as an opportunity to challenge my self to continue with my workout even at home. TRX has helped me a lot and not being able to do my workout in a gym will not stop me to carry on.

I'm not losing hope that a place will be opened for our team so our TRX journey will go on. I know, this too will pass. This is not the end.

I commit my self  to be fitter, stronger, and healthier. So, TRX, coach, let's do this!
